Out of left field but not off the mark, JOC is a very talented player that leaves it all on the field. I’d replace Foley at 12 with him any day of the week

Izzy moving? No chance, says Cheika

Ha the old Spironisms, Eddy Jones has changed. It’s naive to think JW has not. He turn the brumbies in no time and it lasted for a while, just like his 07 team lasted many Yeats after that. Wallabies need bigger picture types. JW can be accompanied by Australian and kiwi attacking coaches. But his team building and analysis is what is required now.

Cheika on the threshold of an unwanted Wallaby coaching record

“Not a chance” yeah why would MC try something else, his current tactics are setting the world on fire!

Izzy moving? No chance, says Cheika

“He is the best man for the job and there is no one else”

Let me rephrase that so it makes sense for everyone not in lord land….

There is no one else in sight, so he is the best man…

This in it self is BS, MC is lost in a very big ocean. I’m sure Jake White can come in and have a competitive team by the RWC. Will select players in their natural positions and have more then one game plan.

Ugly or not, nothing is more ugly then this.

Cheika on the threshold of an unwanted Wallaby coaching record

Yea, one maybe two but half of this team is playing out of position

UPDATE: Wallabies team for Springboks Test: Cheika confirms bench

He has lost his mind…

UPDATE: Wallabies team for Springboks Test: Cheika confirms bench

With Foley at 12 it will put a target on Folau’s back, easy pickings. Then everyone will blame Izzy for not delivering in that spot.

Put Kerevi at 12 and Falou at 13 which will give cooper two targets and spit the defence.

Trust me there is not a centre on the planet that fears foley in attack or defence… at any level.

Im with Brett, leave the back row, SA is a step down from the All Black loosies. BUT OFR GOD SAKES, drop foley.

Foley and Phipps can cover from the bench.

Something needs to happen in the locking pairs too…. don’t know what.

Cheika’s fine line of selection

Yep the days of strong proud springbok teams are gone.

If they haven’t yet filled in their over seas contracts they will in droves over the next 2 years. Quotas will push players overseas, the green jersey is losing its appeal and the money plus a chance to leave the political charge country for a better future is appealing.

Years from now we will all talk about the days when the best games where between the boks and the all blacks, while being beaten by Italy and other minnows regularly.

I 5 years time from now, SA will be regular wooden spooners in the rugby championship and super rugby.

My only hope is that Australia take advantage of this and start signing young blokes for club and super rugby.

Springboks display failed game plan of a failed coach

I have seen all the angles and it doesn’t look good.

He has no reason to reach for that area and you can see his fingers making contact with the eyes. Douglas natural response all shows it made contact.

If that was Bakkies Botha it would be a lengthy time out.

Franks is a renowned thug.

SANZAAR right not to cite Franks: Hansen

Argues are moving forward just like the AB’s. its only the Wallabies and the Boks going backwards.

Love their use of the ball, they seem to be able to run into gaps, why can’t SA and Aus do this?

Argentina vs South Africa highlights: Pumas claim historic win over Springboks

I simply don’t understand the concept of moving the mob around to to accommodate an average player???? QC and Foley are not strong defenders, now put him at 12??

Its simple and I’m not a coach.

10. QC
12. Kerivi
13. Folau
15. Foley

This is if Foley has to be kept in so he does not release the picks of Cheika singing in the shower.

Wallabies team for Bledisloe 2: Quade Cooper to start at flyhalf, Foley inside centre

What the hell is the coach thinking?????

Foley at 12???

Wallabies team for Bledisloe 2: Quade Cooper to start at flyhalf, Foley inside centre

I was scrolling down fast when I saw two words stand out from different posts…

Line out and Folau….

Keep pooper and Fardy and use Folau in the line outs, he is tall, light compared to a lock and skilful in the air….

Line out problem solved 🙂

Are the Wallabies the problem, or the coaching staff?

Ill add to this, White’s team would not have Folau at 15 but 13 he religiously believed in a 15 that can kick, he believed in big lose forwards and effective sets like line out.

Its all very good to say its not sexy rugby, it was not his strong suite but this can be remedied with the right coaching staff.

Basics, planning, analysis and fixing issues come before flinging the ball wide in Whites book.

Can anyone challenge the All Blacks?

All this points simply to the coaching team who is not at international standard, Australia have for a while now focused on Super rugby coaches who come in make some impact but filters away with time.

Australia had a great opportunity to secure a proven international coach in the last few years but made the same mistake they have made twice in a row before.

Coaching can make a massive difference over a 4 year period, almost always the blue print is obvious, blooding new players, testing combinations, testing playing styles, reviving a career (don’t confuse with including 5 overseas players) little bit of luck, trial and error and a lot of team building.

Unfortunately I don’t see any of these things happening at the Wallabies, nothing that shows there is a bigger plan at work.

All I see is a game plan thats not working being used over and over, refusal to expand the core, holding on to players who don’t perform, combinations that are not baring fruit.

The problem is not that they got thrashed on the weekend, the problem is there seems to be no over arching blue print.

All these things are characteristics of a great international coach… rugby geniuses, i just don’t place the current crop in that category.

For all his short comings Jake White was such an option, combined with the right staff could have put the wallabies in a place to beat NZ

Can anyone challenge the All Blacks?

Without Poe chances of winning the RWC decreases by at least 30%

Wallabies face nervous wait over David Pocock

As smart as everyone make Cheika out to be Izzy should have been rested. He clearly had issues with his ankle.

SPIRO: Destiny beckons with the Wallabies' 'gold wall'

7. Ticker

Spending time under Poe would have helped McMahon’s game even more, he will be pumped for this game.

Wales, beware the McMahon

McMahon is my opinion is the future… Ill get blasted for this but if he keeps the trend going he will be better then Hooper, Poe and dare I say it McCaw (minus captaincy)

1. Very good over the ball
2. Very physical
3. Fast
4. Good out wide
5. Good inside/tight
6. Good hands

Only McCaw 5-7 years ago ticked all 6 boxes. Both Hooper and Poe lack in one or two.

Wales, beware the McMahon

Harry his touch finders have been good but the box kicks tend to go longer and flatter but the lines have been good.

Slight adjustments will have it falling just before the 22 with Habanna waiting. 🙂

At last the Springboks look like a winning combo

The Aussie in me really hates it when this happens and it happens every year, after a good game everyone start getting ahead of them selves and we end up extra disappointed.

I have heard everything from the All Balcks can get any sleep, grand slams, Cheika the messiah and overwhelming favourites.

The RWC only really starts in a weeks time.

Could the Wallabies achieve a historic World Cup Grand Slam?

May the judiciary note that my client had a hair cut prior to the start of this RWC…

The defence of the innocent: An unofficial transcript of the Michael Hooper hearing.

Dave you have obviously not played rugby.

Sticking your foot/leg into an accelerating players legs can damage ankles, knees, hips or end up in a broken leg. Its not the force at which you stick your foot in it, it’s the effect it causes on a player accelerating.

There is a reason this is highly illegal.

Michael Hooper lucky to be suspended for just one week

Using the Bakkies on Jones example where a no arms cleanout broke Jones collarbone and ended his Lions tour he was yelllow carded on field… Bakkies got 2 weeks, the following year he did the same in super rugby cleaning out Geo Aplon getting 4 weeks with no yellow.

Michael Hooper lucky to be suspended for just one week

Agree Graeme Kev has been lashing the hell out the reds this year, so dont know what Billy is smoking.

Hooper is fast and hard, rushing in a cleaning out a player with no arms is not only illegal its very dangerous.
