I demand accountability and transparency via a new constitution. Anything less isn’t enough.

COMMENT: Australian rugby is a depressing picture - the RA board must be axed and the constitution changed

The big 4 are highly competitive and the market / investors keep them honest. Costs are tightly controlled, there is no fat. Besides The head of RA comes from media not banking. My view is the continued failure of Rugby over last 20 years is 40% cultural (nsw north shore set), 40% structural (state unions, clubs & schools refuse to relinquish power for the good of the game) and 20% racial. (I’m serious, look how few islanders make it into our youth rep teams versus anglos, how many islanders are at board level across the game?).

Thrown together Australia A side beaten by Tonga as Tupou completes comeback, mixed day for RWC hopefuls

‘women seal QF berth against France after massive win’. Am I in a parallel universe? Australian Women played terribly and lost to France in Qtrs. they are OUT of the tournament.

Sacré bleu: French spoil the Sydney Sevens party as Aussie sides crash out in epic quarter-finals

It’s been an enjoyable day at Allianz thus far. Tahs Gen Blue women stood out for all the wrong reasons. Disorganised rabble could barely catch n pass. Queensland ladies far superior.

Old School, have a read of Nick Bishop’s article on Samu.

Studs and duds: How Marky surprised RWC winner, John Eales Medal bolter, time for Pete to start over Hoops?

With Brumbies going private ‘club versus country’ sounds like a future impediment to positive change just around the corner.

Nick if you could put % on Australian Rugby / Wallabies ever returning to a regular top 3 side in world rugby what would it be? I’m quite pessimistic. Maybe 12%. In my opinion, If change was going to happen, it wouldve happened by now.

Coach's corner: 'Barely recognisable' - Why Dave Rennie's Wallabies play nothing like his Glasgow Warriors

1.)“We contract more than just the players,” Nucifora said. “We contract the four CEOs and the provinces, we contract the head coaches in the provinces, we contract the head of athletic performance in provinces, the physios, head physios, so all the key head of strength and conditioning.”
2.) This quote from Nucifora is why ireland can succeed and Australia cant. In a nutshell.

Private schools wont work with public schools. States dont work with each other. Subbies dont work with clubs. Clubs fight amongst themsleves. None of them work with RA or each other.

If the game is lost by the time Tupou & Skelton leave the subs bench, Rennie will be open to criticism.

WALLABIES TEAM: Rennie makes ten changes, including a surprise at 15, leaves kryptonite on the bench

Thanks for putting Joey on my radar Phil. Great article.

Joey Walton's coming back to the Tahs in 2023 - this is why he'd make the perfect Wallabies centre partner for Len Ikitau

The country wouldn’t even know the Wallabies were playing, let alone care. The rusted on who are living the death spiral deserve a lot better. Get rid of any coach who makes the total less than the sum of parts.

Shattered Wallabies feel they 'let the country down' but reject Mortlock's dire World Cup prediction after Italy fiasco

Thanks for raising this Stu. Its good to know its not just me.

Rugby news: 'Poor from me' - Foley owns up, Scot praises 'world class' hit on Tate, Cane's incredible bravery

And each time i have to login i am forced another page and not returned to the article i was reading nor the comment i was trying to make. If its happening to others it probably costing the roar many many engagements in comments section which is an own goal. Can you look at these two issues ive raised. Rugby news: 'Poor from me' - Foley owns up, Scot praises 'world class' hit on Tate, Cane's incredible bravery

How low do Wallabies need to slide in the World rankings before the games administrators a.) recognise the problem b.) attempt to fix it.
The same issues from 2 decades ago that have landed us in this position still exist.

REACTION: Rennie and Wallabies 'crumble' in Auckland again as All Blacks put on a 'masterclass'

Tate’s pass is 2/3rds as long as white. Swapping him in brings a raft of other issues to the attack.

AUS vs SA studs and duds: Coach or cattle behind Wallabies' troubling 'psyche' flaw, and what's up with Giteau Law pick?

Hodge can kick it 60 metres so why was White taking clearing kicks from behind the ruck deep in our territory?. Im just a bit confused…

I hurt myself putting my fist through the tv this morning during the game

REACTION: 'Masterclass,' 'perfect game plan, perfectly executed' - Cheika sticks the boot into bewildered Wallabies

JOC wasnt match sharp and his unforced errors made a material difference to the match.

REACTION: Perese and Petaia join Wallabies' devastating injury list as Eddie's England level series

Hooper wasnt at his best tonight. From the kickoff he got steamrolled and then dropped it cold. No pilfers. Is he on the decline?. Fraser McReight has been immense for Australia A. A change at no7 is on the cards.

I hope RA are bluffing. Instead of sharing revenue Kiwis could offer to strengthen Oz Rugby by allowing teams to join or enabling more Aussie teams to play the NZ domestic NPC competition. Kiwis could also assist enable more kiwis to join Super Rugby teams and vice versa to even up the competition. Stronger Australian Rugby benefits the kiwis AB’s and Australia / Wallabies. Lack of trust a key impediment.

Are Rugby Australia bluffing?

NRC will need to be run on a shoestring if it is to succeed. Flying over a vast country is expensive so we may need to initially limit the competition to eastern seaboard. Utilising existing Super Rugby team infrastructure and administration can save on costs. TAHS NRC, REDS NRC etc. Even a 5 team competition would give 4th Tier players a chance to prove themselves up a level. Just have to find the right structure on the cheap.
An alternative may be to request or even pay NZ Rugby to allow the top 30-50 fringe Aussies access to the NPC, via playing with their squads. Flying teams over to NZ and back would be too expensive.

The coaches want it, and now it seems RA’s appetite for the NRC might be growing

Wainui scored 5 tries. The final try wasn’t scored by the replacement.

Chiefs consign Waratahs to winless season

Spot on. How many Pacific Islanders are running the game via board participation…at any level.
NIL. Unacceptable.

Is rugby really a classist and elitist sport?

I am wondering if concerned rugby fans could stump up the cash to support a shute shield club in Western Sydney. As long as the governance was setup right I’d stump up some dosh.

Is rugby really a classist and elitist sport?

Actually that’s a waste of time. If we want a schools comp setup in Western Sydney, why not do it ourselves?.
Farthing I’ll ping you.

How Rugby Australia can build the code in western Sydney

Maybe a guest article from someone in Rugby Australia or NSW Rugby to explain the strategy & plans for getting Kids in Western Sydney playing Rugby would shed some light.
I’ll email them and ask.
