They are fine Danfan. The provincial grounds the Super teams go to are purpose built rugby fields & are used for ITM cup games.
The NZRU ensures the grounds are up to scratch & if there is an issue have the ability to swing the games back to the main centre. These games are so important for the provinces that they pretty much do anything required to have the ground in good nick.
Interesting idea DH. One probable issue would be that AFL players would need a year to rebuild their bodies to Rugby mode. AFL players train for aerobic fitness much more than strength & short explosiveness.
One of my mates helps with off season training for a WAFL team as well with a number of Force players. He reckons that the rugby guys push a lot more weight & are physically stronger but have nothing like the endurance the WAFL guys need to build to.
Should be able to do that Dale. Of course the quid pro quo will be that no player born in NZ or of NZ descent will be eligible for the Wallabies.
