^This, so much this, you know people are completely ignorant about the area when they get that wrong.
Also when they think people loyal to the Gong will take to a team in Sutherland.

Forecasting the A-League's next ten years

2015 is turning out to be a huge year for football in Australia, I can only imagine the amount of youngsters seeing Chelsea, Tottenham or Australia’s Asian Cup Victory and wanting to be on the pitch, new generations of sports stars are created in the stands and there will be plenty of kids aiming to emulate these moments.

What we learnt from Tottenham and Chelsea

That sucks, they were good performers I’d take Takahagi any day.

Sydney FC bargain bin now open

That’s my pick, unless Arnold has another trick up his sleeve like a foreign coach networked from the recent friendlies or Han Berger.

Believe me there’s nothing more I’d love but I get the feeling the club are steering themselves out of trouble and finding their land legs so to speak, they’ve just signed Scott Jameson who is a very consistent performer, they have Takahagi and Castelen who have been standouts in a dim season and as AZ mentioned they’ve just retained some good youngsters.
Unless they get the next few signings absolutely bang on they’re not going to set the league on fire but I have a feeling they won’t be as bad next season.

Nah Amini wants to keep going in Europe and I agree he should keep at it there, a Dutch or Belgian club would work wonders for his playing style, going back to the A-League would be too much a step back, I would hate for Sydney to be the one to do that to him.

With Nicky Carle looking set for a behind the scenes role, I think we should look for a traditional number 10 as our marquee, someone to slot in between Antonis/Tavares in midfield and Brosque/Smeltz up front with Brosque dropping into a second striker role, all we need is a good young striker for some good combos up front and a more athletic defender and I think next season will be another successful one.

Gotta love the outsiders taking pot shots when football fans have been waiting for this day for a long time.

It's time Blatter's cronies developed a conscience

It seems most people are in party mode about this but I don’t think this will mean instant failure, if Roar get the support staff right then there’s no reason Aloisi can’t succeed, he’s got a great assistant in Rado Vidosic, some wonderful players in Broich and McKay and no doubt Aloisi would have learned something in his time at Heart and do his best to not make the same mistakes.

Roar unveil Aloisi as new A-League coach

I don’t like it, I don’t like it at all, especially when they’re turfing a proven goalscorer who has adapted to the league with someone who could know nothing about how we play in Australia, also the communication of his future and reneging on the deal has me feeling very sorry for him as a Sydney FC member.

No contract extension for Janko at Syd FC

I’m glad you have no rule changing power.

If you were a football dictator, how would you change the game?

16 goals, a golden boot award and a consecutive game scoring record, there was a bit of injury trouble near the end of the season though that explains the dip.
But no matter how you slice it that’s a brilliant return.
Also whether or not you rated him has nothing to do with whether Sydney will look elsewhere, my leaning is that he’s already out the door and Arnie is looking for a replacement already.

A-League grand finalists set to be dismantled

Yep, just got the email.

A-League grand finalists set to be dismantled

This has got to be sarcasm right?

A-League grand finalists set to be dismantled

It’s about time someone put an end to the troubles plaguing the Jets, Newcastle is too much of an important market to lose.

UPDATE: Nathan Tinkler stripped of Newcastle Jets' A-League licence

I wouldn’t be surprised if Janko didn’t stay, he seemed too down in Grand Final lead up interviews, it’s my understanding that Faty and Tavares have verbally agreed to a deal and have yet to flesh out bonuses, similar situations with Ibini and Dimitrijevic, deals are on the table and they seem to want to stay, the only real question is Smeltz who has given no indication of his intentions either way.
As far as the injured players I’ve heard Ognenovsky is retiring and Carle is thinking of a backroom role within the club, Gameiro is expected to return to fitness and has a good chance of coming back, I have no idea about Abbas though.

I can’t argue with that one, Victory just had an answer for everything we did, impeccable performance.

A stadium walkout?
This sounds like we can invent a reason this happened and insist on our version being true.

Authorities must change fan-management approach in western Sydney

I’ve been a Sydney FC fan since day dot and I rarely ever hear the term from other fans and never once from club officials.
It’s always been “The Sky Blues”

A-League must learn from Gallop's NRL mistakes

“Uniquely Australian knockout phase”

Oh dear, someone tell that to America, Canada, New Zealand, plus a slew of other small countries who follow the same formula.

A neutral's guide to the A-league grand final

That’s ridiculous and you know it, there isn’t a month that goes by when some bright spark from another code has to publish an opinion piece about their perceived problems in our game.
Jane Caro, Jason Akermanis, Ali Clarke, Graham Cornes, Peter Rolfe, John Birmingham, I could go on.
I implore you to give me a list of Football journalists doing the same, unprovoked rubbish opinions seen by these world class flops.
And I do say unprovoked, meaning not by direct response.

Forget the pitch, forget the AFL, this A-League final has a fine home

Could this be the first A-League season decided by goal difference between three clubs?

[VIDEO] Melbourne City vs Wellington Phoenix highlights: A-League scores, blog

I feel sorry for the fans most of all, the board completely went against everything they should have stood for all for a cheap shot at a trophy, the fans deserve better and with the fine and the damage to the reputation, it will be hard for Perth to attract good players, only contributing to a disastrous downward spiral.
