9 Phipps, 10 Toomua, 11 Mitchell, 12 Kerevi, 13 Kurindrani, 14 AAC, 15 Folau. No defensive weaknesses; just bash em.

Can you solve the Wallabies inside backs problem?

No offense intended toward Adam Thompson, but how will this help Australian rugby? Is this not similar to bringing in Potgeiter? We can see what Potgeiter did for the Waratahs as a player when he was on the field, but did his presence in Australia assist the Wallaby forwards later in the season? By that I mean, did the mongrel rub off him and on to the Waratahs forwards who made it to Wallaby squad? I would say no. Surely we can find some angry big men now that the NRC is here?

Reds strike it lucky with All Black

Well technically he’s actually correct RT; there are only two things being compared – Toomua and Beale, and such ‘better’ is the correct word. Had he been comparing three or more, then ‘best’ would be correct from a grammatical perspective.

Toomua locked in for Wallabies

My observations lead to the conclusion that forwards should receive far higher salaries than backs. Maybe $750 K a year potential earnings will see us attract some big, strong talent.

Five observations from the Wallabies-Springboks Test

RT, I think you did remarkably well considering that was done from memory, and for the fact that I actually misdirected my question to you by mistake. Ha! It was actually Moaman who I meant to direct my question. Anyway, cheers for your input.

Personally, I still think we need either a 12 or 13, or preferably both, who can bend the line regularly. I’d like someone the size of Higginbotham at 12 to get that damn line bent as soon as possible.

Matt Toomua to start ahead of Quade Cooper?

I heard that slap on Digby from the other end of the field.

Reds hold on to down Bulls in Super Rugby

Super Rugby contenders and pretenders (part II)

There was nothing wrong with your grammar the first time. ” I don’t think…”

Deans be brutal, Genia be realistic

I say let them vote. If they want to pay money to the ARU charity then so be it.

Selecting the Wallabies by the power of text

I just have to wonder, don’t you kiwis ever get tired of coming into an Australian rugby forum. Surely NZ has one also?

Tough to attack early in Super Rugby

We should field hugely different teams also then. Besides, even if we won the 3N, the Saffas and the Kiwis would just say we won only because we played watered-down opponents… sigh.

ARU hopes SANZAR check on Bok injuries

Why don’t we just take our full strength squad and manage the top 15 players well? Let the Reds’ players have a rest for the first game. Give players other than the top 15 a starting spot and use the top 15 players as subs. Or, alternate the starting spots.

I think P.Devil may come a gutsa with his policy. Sure the old dogs will be rested, but will they get rusty too?

ARU hopes SANZAR check on Bok injuries

Cheers for that. Very informative. Speaking of Freuan, he looked like a weapon the other night. Bit worried about him if he makes the ABs.

Wallabies selection question marks growing

Ha, perfect point Kovana. Karma finally caught up with Richie.

Alrighty, we are all bogans and no foreign players or coaches are traitors; I’m cool with that. Peace 🙂

And yeah The Bush, up for being friends. Need some more rugby supporters amongst my group as they are few and far between I am afraid.

Eddie Jones' brilliance is in his own mind

Alrighty let’s put it all behind us. There are no bogans amongst us and foreign coaches and players etc aren’t traitors. 🙂 What’s the next topic heh?

Eddie Jones' brilliance is in his own mind

OK Suzy, let me correct you on everything. For one thing, it’s ‘xenophobic’ with an ‘x’. It’s ‘closed minded’, not ‘close minded’ and “until” is spelt with one ‘l’. Us small-minded bogans from Qld know things like that.

Anyway, back to the rebuttal… You are mistaken in thinking I am against foreign coaches, players and whatnot. I totally get that to have the best games we need the best personnel, irrespective of where the personnel comes from.

What I take issue with is the way E.Jones continually conducts himself. It’s like he left Australia with a permanent chip on his shoulder. Rather that look at his own coaching style and its resultant failures, he blamed the players. And now, still writhing in the pain of rejection, a bitter E.Jones is out to put the boot in whenever he can. I honestly cannot remember a kind word from E. Jones.

You mentioned Deans, Henry et al and the fact that they are foreign coaches; OK, Deans was also rejected by his peers and must have been privately scathing of the NZRU’s decision to extend G. Henry’s tenure as coach given that he, as assistant to Mitchell, was shown the door after WC failure. However, to my knowledge, Deans has never attacked his former country’s coaches or players publicly. Henry also, despite really having it over Deans for the last couple of years, has continually held back with his comments; a smaller man would not have.

And finally Suzy, one last thing… you said that when E. Jones made a statement about the Boks being a disgrace, you ‘disliked him immensely’ despite your privately agreeing with him. So therefore, it’s ok if a South African feels that way about the national team, but not ok if an Australian states it.

Ohhh those nasty foreigners and their opinions…. hmmm smells like xenophobia to me (with an ‘x’ of course).

While watching a Kiwi game, they performed the haka, and the TV commentator made mention of how the opposing team was expected to respond.

Found this btw:

… the fine print in IRB tournament rules that dictate teams facing the haka,… must remain at least 10 metres on their own side of the halfway line.

The rule was put in place to prevent potential incendiary incidents between players caught up in the high emotion of the haka.

In the past opposing teams have reacted in a variety of ways to the All Black haka, including some instances of players standing nose to nose with their opposites at the end of it.

On other occasions players have gesticulated at the opponent during it and even formed a huddle and tried to ignore it.

Standard practice now, encouraged by the IRB, is for teams to stand at the agreed distance and face the challenge in the spirit with which it is intended.

Will the haka handicap the All Blacks?

Oh really? I haven’t seen anything interesting happen for a long time and I thought I had heard that opposing teams couldn’t do anything at all except watch.

Well hopefully some team will do something interesting at the WC.

Will the haka handicap the All Blacks?

I think the haka is good for the game, but I am not down with the restrictions placed on teams facing it. I think it’s a bit one-sided. And it’s a bit rich asking the teams to stand there and ‘respectfully observe’ a bunch of men performing a war dance.

As a kid, I loved seeing teams’ counters to the haka, turning their backs, walking up to them, starting their own challenge early (Tonga) etc. I can still remember the games and refer to them in my mind as ‘the game where the Aussie guy walked up and winked or blew a kiss or something at the kiwi performing’ and suchlike.

Let the teams challenge I say.

Will the haka handicap the All Blacks?

Well they’ve had the long called-for shake up so hopefully something good will come of it.
