Couldn’t have said it better myself. Thank you for this article- this is the type of conversation I’ve been having since last year. It’s gone way too far now. The AFL clearly have directives about paying frees to him because they know all it would take is someone to side-by-side footage from last year with a please explain- ‘how is this any different to this tackle from last year?’

This continuous narrative around Jack continues to draw out the nuffies & highlight the worst fans this sport has to offer. Imagine cheering when someone gets their head taken off because you’ve decide that because he has a PERSONALITY you don’t like him. I’m also sick of people saying he’s playing for it. Despite you being unable to possibly know that, you sound like bloody children trying to prove a point. “He plays for it let him get what’s coming. Good on the umpires!” You’re inadvertently saying it’s ok for the umpires to target players due to their history. But imagine if this was Joel Selwood. & everyone time he ducked he actually got pulled up on it. Then I’m sure you would be complaining about that & how it’s shit umpiring & that they have a vendetta.

For all the people NOT angry about this- decide what you want from the game. Fair umpiring that isn’t biased because of a personality or previous events. OR umpires that make lasting decisions about a player then either pull them up everytime or ignore them everytime because they have a limited track record. & before anyone comments “you’re a collingwood supporter you would say that” get a better argument before wasting my time.

The AFL must do more to protect Jack Ginnivan

I didn’t even read the whole article, I stopped with the first few lines. I was at the game on Friday night but can you really blame the people that weren’t? It was bitterly cold and started raining. Considering lots of people come as a family I certainly wouldn’t want to bring my children out in that weather. it doesn’t question the fans support it just questions their common sense. Believe me if I didn’t have social club tickets, I think I would have gathered being rugged up in a warm house.

Are low Victorian crowds really the AFL's fault?

Every team has off days and every team sometimes produces pretty poor football. It’s human nature, they aren’t perfect. No team is going to go 23-0 so you have to expect some losses. I don’t think Geelong will win the premiership, but I do think who cares if they lost to Saint Kilda, they aren’t going to face them in finals. It’s irrelevant.

Geelong still the team to beat in 2016

I agree, there was nothing in the Dangerfield incident I was merely trying to raise the point of the MRP being put in an uncomfortable situation and how do they they handle said incidents with big names. I should have specified that I only mentioned Roary because they were teammates previously that’s why I raised the point of if they still played together the Adelaide midfield would be incredible because Sloane is having one of his best seasons. the editing process sometimes changes my words so I’m glad I can specify to you here. Thanks for your input it all helps widen my knowledge. 🙂

What do we make of Dangerfield's season so far?

Not sure if this is a joke…

Randomly predicting the 2016 AFL Ladder

Rising star candidates? Nil??? Darcy Moore will have breakout year with his goal kicking if he can feature in the senior team consistently.

Jordan De Goey also has a chance at breaking out as a star midfielder, the boy can run and play both offensively and defensively in the middle and that’s really important.

AFL preview series: Collingwood Magpies

The new Richmond?

AFL preview series: Collingwood Magpies

This is a really good idea but the only problem could be that the location’s aren’t central and peole would have to travel further but really that’s my only downside!

Smaller venues for the AFL is necessary

I agree it seems a bit far fetched and dreamy at this stage. We’ll see if it progresses- probably not.

Eddie McGuire proposes new $1 billion stadium next to MCG

Times change and hopefully people can change and be more open minded

We need more women in sports media

That’s what I hope I can do in the future!

I think a basic point that sums up this whole article is that teams are travelling way too much and way too far just some practice match where some teams field strong teams and others don’t. It needs a mix up- if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work but something needs to be done to change it.

How the NAB Challenge could be improved

excuse me? Some men are involved in all women sports such as high level netball, it’s not an issue.

Hahaha I actually laughed at this one! I don’t know but maybe over time!

I don’t agree with what you have said above as that is a personal choice it shouldn’t define what gets put on the air.We should be pushing for more females in the business because their are people who are interested but don’t know If they will even be able to get a job. You shouldn’t choose a women over a man just because she’s a women but if she’s equally qualified who ssays you shouldn’t just because some people don’t like a female voice. The world will get used it and so will you give them a chance

We need more women in sports media

Exactly- that’s all I’m asking that the best possible person gets the job

I agree you have to cover certain things.

You don’t even have to have played professionally I have played footy for a while now and I could say over time and with a bit more experience I would be fine to comment on a game in that instance!

Thanks for that input it interested me greatly. I had aspirations to be a commentator I’m very passionate about AFL but I agree with you, it will be very difficult to break into that part of the industry. It isn’t about the industry moving on from prejudice it’s the individual definantly. It will take some time for people to get used to the idea of hearing a female calling the game! Maybe one day you will hear me on Fox Footy? I can only dream.

We need more women in sports media

That’s a good point but not everyone can be a past player and just because you might not be doesn’t mean you don’t have undeniable passion and knowledge.

I’m not a fan of NRL so I’m not aware of this but that is amazing! Good for her that’s awesome

Thanks for giving Caroline Wilson credit for her outstanding level of information gathering. Why is there such a debate about this whole scenario anyway? It’s best and fairest, he wasn’t the fairest he didn’t deserve it it goes against the AFL and it’s values and codes.

Just once, can the AFL play it straight?

Yes it might hard for a women who is average looking to get a job, just as it might be hard for a man with no playing history to get a job.Very good point
