I agree it will be a super quick first half, but I feel the horses I mentioned may be happy to take a sit on SSL. If they let it sit outside of them, that is virtually suicide the way Panella drives.

Cold Major would be best dropping to the markers for sure, in behind the early speed. Beautide won last year’s Miracle Mile from 3-pegs. It’s a good place to be.

Tigers by 1-6. I think Cam Smith will be a bigger loss than people think for Melbourne. Tigers to show some ticker. Wet weather will keep it close and low scoring.

Fair result. Australia should be happy overall, but obviously a little disappointed to let the lead slip so late. Play like that in the final two games and we will be in Brazil next year.

I don’t think you can look too much into the result last night. Yes, it’s very positive to score 56 points, but they were playing a team crippled by Origin and not up to first grade standard.

Wobbly Warriors worldbeaters or should tipsters be wary?

This article made me even more primed and ready for game one. Can not wait to be in the Blues section on June 5.

NSW State of Origin rituals ready for game I

I’m really liking Smith. He’s honest and thorough in his explanations and obviously has a very good grasp of the business side of the game. People need to look beyond the slip-ups and give him more time. Hadley was way out of line.

Mr Smith shows he's no generic CEO

Henriques unlucky to miss out after a great debut tour of India. Don’t see the worth in debuting a 35yo in Rogers on the biggest stage cricket has to offer.

Ashes Test squad announced: Who's in, who's out

He may well be right, but the was he is conducting himself isn’t acceptable.

Shane Warne bowing out ungraciously

Both Wright boys are not really FG standard.

2013: The Wright time for Cronulla?

I think our poor performances could lead some to believe that the Big Bash competition is a poor standard of Cricket. I do think though, that Sri Lanka seem to be able to concentrate and apply themselves better to 50 over and 20 over games rather than Test matches.

More big hitters needed in Aussie T20 side

His confrontation with Paul Kent was laughable, just showed how arrogant he really is.

Time for Mundine to let his actions do the talking

Siddle, Pattinson, Johnson.

Rotating out of our minds: who are our top three quicks?

For some reason players are seen to be more fragile nowadays. The more game time the better imo.

No chance for new players to impress

I agree with the notion that this passion seen last night is good for the game. A rivalry between cross-town teams the Renegades and Stars will be good for the competition in the long run. Warne and Samuels probably both went a little too far with their actions. Warne’s language on the Fox Sports mic should have also seen him come under more fire in my opinion.

Finally, some passion in the Big Bash

Herath, Ajmal and Swann would be the closest.

South Africa continue Test cricket dominance

Rogic has to make the move. The exposure in England and Europe is so much greater than in Australia despite the A-League’s growth. Even if Reading are in the midst of a relegation battle, the experience will be important in his growth as a player and his performances may lead to offers from larger clubs.

Is the timing right for Tommy Rogic?

It’s been a bad period for Warney. This selfish display, speeding in Scotland, and now swearing on Fox Sports microphones and throwing a ball at Marlon Samuels.

Warne-ing signs

Nothing is wrong with test cricket really. It’s still very popular and accepted by most players as the premier format of the game. True cricket fans will always love test cricket.

T20 hype will not transfer into Test arena

Is the aim of T20 cricket to increase popularity in test cricket?

T20 hype will not transfer into Test arena

Don’t know how you can rate Hazard as no.1. He hasn’t really continued his good form from the opening weeks. In terms of consistency, RVP, Michu and Cazorla have been the top 3 imo.

The top five EPL signings of the season

I think the ARLC can devise a system where games are shared between Suburban grounds and larger stadiums. The Tigers have already done this in recent times by sharing the games between SFS (4 games), and Campbelltown/Leichhardt (8 games). This sort of plan could work for other teams like St George Illawarra and Manly.

Rugby League must not do away with its suburban roots

It’s been a combination of big name signings such as ADP and Heskey, as well as Australia’s growing affinity with football in general. The a-league will continue to grow over the next decade as long as the quality of the game does also.

Why has this A-League season been so successful?

I’d feel most comfortable with this line up

1. Hughes
2. Cowan
3. Watson
4. Khawaja
5. Clarke
6. Hussey
7. Wade

Australian cricket has a top order dilemma

Very frustrating watching WSW. Make so many quality chances but just can’t reap the rewards. I feel they are relying too heavily on crossing, but the defence is a positive sign.

Sydney Derby - Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney FC: A-League live scores

All 6 points that you raised I agree with 100%. I was at the game as well and did think that the atmosphere even eclipsed that of an NRL game with a similar attendance. That is a major win for the game.
