Interestingly, the Kapil effort came for a losing cause. The Paks selectors seem most flexible regarding picking captains: Fazal, Intikhab, Imran, Wasim, Waqar all led Paks in tests. Bit surprised to see Wasim so low in the list. Also, Abdul Qadir led them in ODI, but not in tests.
Among the WI quickies, Courtney Walsh had couple of spells as captain, although his reign ended with a humiliating whitewash in Pak.

Thanks. Richie was always going to be no 1. Bit of a dilemma over 2 and 3. At the end I felt that the Windies batting in 1989 was considerably stronger than the current Pak batting line up.

Asif Iqbal and Kim Hughes were fairly similar. Neither can be termed great batsman, btu both knew when to raise their game.

Very nice article to start with. The Paks were very competitive in Aus for roughly 2 decades starting in the 1970s. Although they lost 3 nil in 1972-73 the score wont tell the whole story.
It was during that series, one Pak batsman said to Lillee, if you can knock the cap off my head, you can keep it.
I am not 100% sure who it was, my guess it was Majid, but it can be Sadiq or Asif as well. anyone here can give me very definite answer?

Thanks for the comment. It was basically a coin toss for me between Kohli-Rahul and Head-Marnus. I just got the feeling (may be I am wrong) watching India on the field, that they gave up too early. Their score was at least a 100 short of what they were expecting.

Interestingly there was the Australasia cup . it was held in Sharjah; Paks won all three events. India were Runners up in 1986 and 1994; the Aus in 1990.
I actaully thought there was good prospect for the event, but then Sharjah cricket suffered a blow with the match fixing allegations.
