Part Four up now also. Michael Cheika…

Crusaders candidates: Jake White (Part 1)

Looks like I have a new candidate to add to my list following the recent announcement…

Crusaders candidates: Jake White (Part 1)

At least he’d have a Kiwi or Islander on the side. Do you think he likes AFL?

Cheers all! Shall keep ’em coming so long as there’s interest and I don’t run out of ideas!

Part Three is up also, featuring… Robbie Deans!

It doesn’t make much sense for the WBs to move Folau to centre, given we’ve already got TK there, but not a lot of competition at fullback.

I much prefer Beale at FB to centre. He’s better with space, and that way you wouldn’t have to keep relying on Horne to cover him in defence.

OK all I’ve made a blog for part two with the rest to follow shortly (the link is in the comments here somewhere).

Nice work Rob C. I like that ‘tackle’ sounds like ‘tickle’ in South African. Very effective when the joke is De Villiers, coming up to ‘tackle’ the defence.

I tried creating an account with G&GR but it seems there are restrictions on who can start threads, so I’ve created a personal blog instead.

Riddler, I find it very strange also… The others they turned down featured a generic message, “wasn’t quite right for our audience or ready to be published” – but I’ve received no reason why Part Two was taken down after initially being posted.

Thanks again for the feedback!

When a guy has coached a nation to World Cup victory, you know he must have taken a few wrong steps to fall out of favour with his countrymen.

Sorry folks, it seems as though Part Two was published yesterday, then taken down. I have received no reply from The Roar as to why, but common consensus is that it was too risque.

I have therefore set up a personal blog to publish it, as well as the rest of the series, for those who are interested. Part Two is there now and the rest will follow shortly.

Cheers for the feedback guys, I’ll sleep on it.

Powers that be have given no feedback so I’m in the dark, but the only reason I can see that they would accept it, then take it down shortly after, is due to receiving some pretty hefty complaint, so it must be because, as you guys suggest, the content was a bit much.

The thing that annoys me most is that they have now rejected all the others I sent, which were certainly no more offensive than this one about Jake White. After all, it’s humour, someone has to be the butt of the joke! One of them was even complimentary!

I agree AussieKiwi, when you consider many of the comments that appear on the Roar, it’s hard to imagine they would have problem with it – but different standards must apply to articles than to comments.

I can understand the sensitivity towards part two, but to put a stop to the others as well seems a massive over reaction. Anyway…

If I decide to blog them I’ll drop in with a link some time tomorrow.

Did they momentarily post it, then take it down? I have an email saying it was published but the link is broken. I have also just received a slew of rejections from the others submitted. I think the standard is of a similar quality throughout, so I can only think it may have been too close to the bone.

Part 2 was certainly the riskiest of all of them, so that’s unfortunate. It’s a shame, I meant it only as light humour.

Despite being a QLD’er, I hope Gibson does well at the Waratahs, it’ll be good for Oz rugby.

I see Stuff ran an article a few days back about some legitimate contenders for the position, but I wasn’t really familiar with them. Looks like it will an inside job.

Funny you should mention Eddie, you might just see him make an appearance in future articles…

Glad you liked it!

He’s sure provided some material.

“On the field, the Force have vowed to play with more width and speed in 2016. It’s music to the ears of Godwin…”

And to the rest of us. They were certainly too predictable and it would have been a worry had the review not picked that up. Hope they put Godwin back in 12 this year as well, where he looks much better. With Toomua leaving and the age of Giteau, he could be a genuine Wallabies contender in top form.

Brutal review helps Force start afresh

Cheers mate, I had my doubts. Once you write something and have read it twenty times and know it back to front it’s easy for the spark that began it to seem dull, so I’m glad people are enjoying it. I guess satire is not for everyone though.

Definitely a factual account of life imitating art, and not a fictional account of art imitating life 😀

Thanks Lindsay! There are a few more in the hands of the editors should they see fit. 🙂

Cheers guys, appreciate the feedback! Just a bit of fun while we’re starved of rugby for a few months.
