Still a bit of swing out there. Kiwis got to make the most of this

Massive danger signs for the KIwis – 3rd 4th and 5th bowlers don’t look threatening at all. Too much asked of Boult and Southee.

There was a bit of juice early, little bit of swing which Kiwis didn’t fully utilise. Not as much bounce as you’d expect from a Gabba surface, maybe because of the extra moisture, but it looks pretty flat now really good to bat on. I’d expect it to get bouncier as the day goes on.

The Spurs at their best are going to be hard to beat. There’s still some question marks surrounding the fit of Aldridge into the beautiful machine that is the Spurs offense; The offense generally dies once the ball gets in Aldridge’s hands, while the Spurs love to keep the ball moving searching for the best shot.
But you’d be a fool to think Pop isn’t going to make it work. The key will be Tony Parkers health, the Spurs wont go far if he’s hobbled again by injury
Why you don’t need to follow the NBA this season
Melbourne United have smashed the Townsville Crocodiles 93 – 62 at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne.
The win moves United to 4-0 for the season, while Townsville drop to 1-4. A lot of things needed to go right for Townsville to have any chance of winning, unfortunately for them, not much did go right. The game was effectively over by half time, with United leading by 27 points.
Townsville had no answers for Daniel Kickert, who had 20 points at the main break. If he wasn’t nailing three’s, was killing them inside. Stephen Holt was brilliant again, finishing with 19 points and Majok Majok grabbed every rebound in sight, ending up with 13 rebounds in just 20 minutes of play. Melbourne killed the Crocs with superior ball movement and 3-point shooting – finishing the night 13-32 from downtown.
For Townsville, Clint Steindl had the hot hand late in the game, going 5-8 from behind the arc, en route to 19 points, but it was too little too little. The firepower United possess was just too much for a Townsville side that seems destined to finish at the foot of the table.
It doesn’t get any easier for Townsville, who now have to travel to Perth to play an undefeated Wildcats side. United stay at home facing the Cairns Taipans on Saturday night.
Will the Taipans put up a fight? Can they beat this all conquering Melbourne United side? Can anyone beat them?
Unfortunately for the rest of the competition the answer seems to be no. This might be the most dominant NBL team we’ve seen in many years. While it’s drastically early to hand out championship trophies, Melbourne should be an un-backable favourite.

Agree with your take on the front office – geez they’ve made some made decisions. But I’m not sure Holberg is the problem. I think it’s remarkable they’ve won 35 games this season with that roster
