S.P.O.R.T Speed Power Outlandishness Ruthlessness Tenacity ; The Greatest concept ever created

NSW is getting closer every year. Pearce has the edge on most halfbacks again this season given his premiership win last year. Carney has been tried and delivered mixed results on the origin stage. Oueensland has been renowned for pick and stick and it may be time for NSW to do the same.

Carney already leaving Pearce behind

It is a stretch to believe Sydney FC will win the league. The first priority is making the playoffs which they have pretty much done and eased the pressure on coach Frank Farina.

Right result, but Sydney FC won't win the A-League

I can see this developing as the sport evolves. May have been on the table when they decided to bring in the third tier competition instead. The fact that club rugby is played in a competition that represents arguably the three best sporting nations, begs the question if rugby really needs a champions league.

Is it too late for a Super Rugby champions concept?

As we get closer to the finals would it be fair to say attacking football will become prevalent. The pressure to score goals in an attempt for a top-two finish, semi-finals and finals.

The A-League needs more attacking football

Port Adelaide is proving it will be challenging for the title again. The revamped stadium is just another cue for the club who his striking the opposition with its youth and hunger to win the ball. There are calls for the Showdown to kick-off the season annually. The Power will be looking to keep their undefeated start to season in tact when they take on the North Melbourne Kangaroos. The other side of Adelaide will be desperate for a win when they face the Sydney Swans who are also looking to open their account.

Port Adelaide and Adelaide Oval: Jewels in the AFL's crown

You’re right Ballymore, and they would have good reason to; but do you think the champions lead has been a distraction on some level?

Brisbane Roar vs Western Sydney Wanderers: A-League live scores

Jack this could be the most important game this season for the Roar. A good chance to make some ground on the field and reduce the top 4 gap.

Canberra can’t and won’t win

PRICHARD: It's the Bulldogs to win the NRL title in 2013

One win does’t turn a punk into a prince, but it has the potential to turn Tomic’s career upside down. Some good form heading into the Australian open (y)

Bernard Tomic: punk to prince?

That is exactly right Rhys

Did Starc’s rest backfire on Australia?

I think that is a bit over the top on Warne’s part- everyone deserves to spend holidays with their families. Yes the way he done it was wrong but in the Australian cricketing world T20 is on the bottom of the food chain. The league is losing momentum but it is not something that will be fixed overnight.

How serious is the Big Bash?

ADP was arguably Sydney’s best player against the Mariners; so if they were to lose him next year they would be in serious trouble.

Vital win, but Sydney FC still need Del Piero

I don’t see Andrew McDonald getting back in purely based on age; good domestic form or not. The person who replaces Watson for the Sydney test will be Usman Khawaja who is a specialist batsmen. They may take a green all-rounder (Christian or Henriques) to India to give them test match experience before the Ashes. By the time the ashes come around- Watson will be both batting and bowling…again.

Six months out, here's my Ashes squad

Adelaide United is a very confidence-based team. It is very interesting to see how they respond after a thrashing against the Wanderers last week. This is a dangerous game against a desperate team which has the potential to dent their title campaign.

Adelaide itching for redemption against Brisbane Roar

All things are good in moderation. A new format has been adopt but you can’t dismiss it entirely. There will always be a play in the game for test cricket.

Cricket Australia's prioritisation of Test cricket is a lie

The top three problem of Warner, Cowan and Hughes will only be healed with time

The pub debate: McKay and O'Connell talk batting

A great NRL mind temporarily lost to the game. A big cue for the Brumbies- the ACT must be targeting rugby league administrators for their structures and systems.

NRL coach Smith joins Brumbies

Australia rugby Union and the Wallabies need Quade Cooper.
He was the only real attacking spark at fly half ( no disrespect to the others who have worn the number 10 jumper). Australian tries have tried up as has their form. Over the coming months the ARU have the bite the bullet and meet the demands of Cooper for it’s own good.

Quade's baaaccckkk!!! And his Wallaby mates aren't happy

I was waiting for a comment to this effect lol

Central Coast Mariners vs Brisbane Roar: A-League live scores, blog

A victory for the Central Coast Mariners against the Brisbane Roar. The visitors had a bit more of the position but it was the boys from Gosford that played the better football and deserved the win.
