“SA wont allow it neither will NZ as both still want to play against each other…”

Perfect P2R2. Let em play each other. With Twiggys money, and a little help from FTA, we have a new national competition, that the broadcasters will finally see is a worthy replacement of the NRL.

How to save Australian rugby

Agree with you rahrah,

An expanded NRC is the future that should replace Super rugby.
Twiggy must use this vehicle as the future Tier 2 competition and should wrestle control of it from the ARU. This IPRC is just not practical, nor needed. Zero tribalism, zero future interest from casual fans.

Please don’t waste precious resources on this flimsy fairytale, waste of time competition.

Michael Cheika must relieve Michael Hooper of the Wallabies captaincy

There is no point in criticising a destination, if you don’t travel to it first.

This article criticises the captain, but offers no better alternative. Hooper is as good as we have in terms of a good leader.

Too many doomsdayers on this site. The Wallabies are coming back, and Cheika is on the right track.

Michael Cheika must relieve Michael Hooper of the Wallabies captaincy

Isn’t this gong to cannibalise the NRC now? Not what we need. cause the NRC is a better pathway for quality players, and a better spectacle for Aussie casual fans.

I’m so disappointed he didn’t take control of the NRC instead. Reading between the lines, it still sounds like a power struggle

Andrew Forrest reveals details of new rugby competition, ARU responds

Very interesting read mick, and a good insight into the future.

The future of Australian rugby is the NRC

Dr Katz,
Spot on.
Twiggy must takeover the NRC. His money is too valuable to be thrown into the Pacific ocean.

The future of Australian rugby is the NRC

Perfectly put piru.

It's time to remind Twiggy who Forced court action

Agree wholeheartedly with you Jules,

I’m fine Will, don’t worry about the rest, pull the anchor in lets go!

Rings a bell from a movie some years ago……..called Titanic or something?

It's time to remind Twiggy who Forced court action

Agree completely JB,
Oz and NZ (whether kiwis like it or not), must now work together to come up with a genuine pacific competition, that both national and international broadcasters notice is worth paying good money for.
Yes, not a great time to be saying to kiwis,’ lets do this together’, given our results this year, but it will turn around for us. Now more than ever, Oz and NZ, must work together. We are not isolated, we have each other, and a beginning point is to allow players from both countries to play either side of the Tasman, and still be eligible to represent their nation.

Its been done in league……..well basically Oz has developed league in NZ. But league has been better for it.
And so will Union in both countries, if we just do it.

Why can't Wallabies play Super Rugby for Kiwi teams?

Everybody take it easy.
Its a 38 man training squad, without any Brumby players thus far (though I expect them back on Monday).

Michael Cheika names Wallabies train-on squad for Bledisloe Cup

I agree Jeff,

Good article Will. The Rebels have been an absolute embarrassment to Australian rugby for years, and if your not good enough (which they aren’t), then get out

Rebels have only one win to stand on, so stop moaning

Agree with Fionn,
Too many tall spastics in the forward pack. What was Genia doing on the field for sooooo long! Not enough mongrel, not enough skilled pilferers, not enough grunt in defence. Cheika doesn’t cut it at international level, makes a solid super rugby coach only. A serious lack of respect for the wallaby jersey. The only time I saw respect shown was Karmichael Hunt tackling 3 players while he was being taken from the field.

Scotland hold on in thriller against the Wallabies
