Evidence of competitive Boxing can be traced back to ancient civilisations in Rome, Greece and Egypt. Professional Boxing however was formed in the early twentieth century and is now an Olympic sport. Some of sport’s most iconic figures have come from professional Boxing, none more illustrious than Mohammed Ali, who arguably became the most significant figure in Boxing history. Other important Boxing fighters include Mike Tyson, Carlos Monzon, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler and Oscar De La Hoya.
