Tim Cahill, born 6 December 1979, is a Ballon d’Or nominated Australian footballer who plays for Everton and the Socceroos. He captains Everton in Phil Neville’s absence and has become one of the highest profile footballers in the Asian Football Confederation.
Following the Socceroos’ 2010 World Cup campaign Cahill was “gutted” and said the campaign was one of his weirdest football experiences. He still managed a positive outlook;
“People see it as somewhat of a failure, but I look at it as we’ve achieved something, because it was a bad start but we picked it up and did really well,” Cahill told reporters at Sydney Airport.
