The Tri Nations rugby competition usually runs from the middle of July right through to late September. The Tri-Nations consists of the All Blacks, Springboks and Wallabies, who each play three matches against one another to determine who will hold the Tri-nations trophy. Each team plays three home games during the course of the tournament.
However, with the Rugby World Cup to be held in 2011, the Tri Nations competition has been compressed and reduced into a pre-cursor or tune-up for the World Cup
