Just thought this might be an added extra piece of info for those wanting to know what conditions their team is likely to be facing in upcoming RWC matches. I’ll update this on a regular basis to take into account matches coming up in next ten days within forecast range. Might be a useful sticky.
The match venues split between North Island and South Island (if I’ve got my geography right) are:
North: Auckland, Whangarei, Hamilton, Napier, Wellington, Rotorua, Palmerston North, New Plymouth
South: Queenstown, Nelson, Invercargill, Dunedin.
Cloudy. Mild winds.) (18/9. Rain. Wind.)
Plymouth
North
The first batch of RWC matches to see all teams play are on 9/10/11 & 14/15/16 Sept for which 10-day forecasts are available. Chart above shows forecast weather on day of match or if no match scheduled at venue, forecast on 10th day to show the outlook. NZ times of matches are given – the later in the day, the lower the temperature. Where two matches are at same venue, the weather for later matches are in brackets. Updates provided as the pools progress.

10 B Scotland v Romania – Invercargill 13.00

Why is Channel 9 delaying the Opening Match until 1:40am?!? Just so they can screen an already-delayed Rugby League final first?
Why not show the World Cup match live first (it is the opening match, after all), and show the already-delayed League final afterwards?
If you are fan of League (I’m not, BTW), you’ll either find a way to watch it live, or if it’s delayed anyway, what’s a couple more hours?
This is the Opening Match of the World Cup – it’s not an every-year footy finals..

Why did CH9 got the rights to Rugby World Cup screening if they only screen Australian participating games – we really want to watch the whole competition not only the home team. Please don’t bother next time. If you do not want to miss out on screening other sporting games, at least put it on GEM. It is not a yearly event after all!!!!

This is unconscionable. I have not watched or owned a television in 3 years; got my PC TV card and aerial hooked up today to watch the world cup, only to find it’s only available at the pub. I’m currently madly searching for an online stream of FOX sports, to no avail. I honestly thought converting to Digital would mean I get to watch these games. Since hooking up my new TV card, I now find there are 25 channels on free to air, not one of which shows the pool matches not involving australia. To add insult to injury, I find there is now a dedicated sport channel called One, which is showing American Football at the time of the Samoa Namibia game. Sigh.

This worked for me
http://www.watchliverugby.com/ (bout $18 for a year) Live streaming through your internet. Most of the matches I’ve watched so far have been reasonable quality and only occasional hiccup.

Hi Michael
I am in the exactly the same position as you! There a re some cracking games that we are just not given the chance to see.
Did you have luck with the alternatives?

Hey Roar,
Your fixtures above show games at Carisbrook Dunedin which I believe is in the process of being sold and probably demolished!
Just to point out, todays Scotland v Georgia was in Invercargill and the England v Romania and Ireland v Italy games are at the new Otago Stadium in Dunedin.

I have written to the IRB (irb@irb.com) to ask them why they gave the rights to Channel Nine when this amateur network has refused to abide by its commitment to show the games.
I also cc’d it to the Melbourne Rebels, david.mcnamara@melbournerebels.com.au, as we have decided not to rejoin the Rebels in protest at rugby officials trashing us by giving the TV rights to a corrupt network.
I suggest others do likewise – otherwise we will not be able to see the finals.

Why are they not airing the All Blacks vs Japan game on Chanel 9 on Friday. or GEM (owned my channel 9)
Surely they could replace Departed or even Farmer wants a wife for the game. I am sure it will get better ratings then them!

UNBELIEVABLE……Channel 9′s coverage is an insult to the game of rugby. Why did they even bother going for the tv rights if they arnt prepared to deliver. Then, to have to
put up with them promoting their coverage of it on channel 9 and there’s stuff all coverage. Tonight Australia play Ireland and we in S.A. have to wait until 11.30pm to watch it. Please someone give us rugby union fans a go.

I am too dumb founded why Rugby is not shown!! It is the world cup, I was hoping to record every single game and watch at a later date!,,, Hey Chn 9, why are you not listening to your viewers, you do have more than 1 channel now! To show all the games on GEM it would have only taken up about 24 hours of TV time! And yes, people do watch rugby! I would probably bet that if the wider community was surveyed, More people would be interested in watching Samoa and Namibia play rubgy that 2 teams in NRL that they can already see run around every 2nd week on TV!
