Australian broadcast details for the 2023 Rugby World Cup sees Channel Nine with exclusive broadcast rights throughout the tournament, with streaming service Stan Sport covering every match live.
The 2023 World Cup was hosted in France, starting on Saturday, September 9 and running until the final on October 29. Check out the full World Cup fixture here.
Channel Nine will be broadcasting all Australian matches, the final on October 29, live on their man channel.
Some other matches, such as the New Zealand-France tournament opener, will also be broadcast on Nine, but not live, with the station’s NRL coverage taking precedence.
Unfortunately, unlike with previous tournaments, those matches are the only ones available on TV.
The only way to watch every match of the Rugby World Cup live is with a Stan Sport subscription.
Stan has exclusive coverage of rugby, tennis and some select motorsport, and has been Australia’s home of rugby and the Wallabies since 2021. If you have a Smart TV, you will be able to stream matches through that via the Stan Sport app, or if not, on your laptop or device of choice.
If you’re already a Stan subscriber, the Stan Sport add-on is approximately $10 extra a month; but if not, you will have to subscribe to Stan to pick it up, which will set you back an extra $10-19 a month depending on your level of subscription.
The good news? Stan Sport will have a feed of every single match of the tournament with no ad breaks, as well as on-demand replays of every game so you won’t need to burn the midnight oil to catch all the action.
To access them, simply go to the Rugby homepage on Stan, browse through the feeds to find your game of choice, and start streaming.
If you’re only interested in Wallabies games and the final, then you can watch on Nine’s streaming service 9Now. Simply create your free account, click on the World Cup match feed and stream away!
