After hearing during the week that Cricket Australia were to give Adelaide Oval a Test match that makes use of Australia Day for the 2011-12 calendar, I was immediately struck by the obligatory use of the line “traditional”, as if Australia Day and Adelaide were synonymous with Test cricket since time began.
