The knowledgable rugby league minds of The Roar have spoken and if the results are anything to go by, NSW selectors have some difficult decisions to make before naming their side at 5.00pm AEST on Sunday.

State of Origin is almost here. Mate against mate, state against state.

NSW’s State of Origin I team takes place on Sunday evening, but we thought we’d give you the opportunity to become Laurie Daley (just for a minute!) and pick the Blues team. So tell us, who should line up 1-17 for NSW in State of Origin I?

Winger Jorge Taufua’s match-winning try for the Sea Eagles against St George-Illawarra on Monday night came as little surprise to fervent Manly watchers.

Who would make your NSW team, if you had to pick one now? I would find room for Josh Reynolds and John Sutton, and I would try to convince Jamie Lyon to have one last hurrah.

Adam Reynolds’ red-hot early season form for South Sydney has set up an intriguing battle with Mitchell Pearce for the City Origin and NSW No.7 shirt.

It seemed like there were a thousand players mentioned as potential New South Wales Origin selections this year, but considering only 17 players can be named, it meant that there were a lot of disappointed players on Sunday afternoon.

The first person to call Todd Carney minutes after he was named NSW Origin five-eighth was his good friend and the bloke who’ll wear the No.7 for the Blues, Mitchell Pearce.

He was selected for second-tier rugby league action last week and NSW State of Origin this week, but Blues coach Ricky Stuart has no doubts Michael Jennings has what it takes to shine.

Ricky Stuart’s gamble with selection worked wonders for NSW in State of Origin II and the Blues coach is set for another on Sunday by naming Jarryd Hayne in the centres for the July 6 decider in Brisbane.
