On Sunday, Foxtel sports claimed to be broadcasting The Australian Tennis Open ‘live’, which is a lie. It is replaying a men’s singles match, which was played last night.

It should be clearly proclaiming ‘replay, instead.

This is what it promised when it obtained its exclusive licence. And this is what the public should be receiving. It’s just a simple con to prevent viewers from switching to Channel 7, which is broadcasting the Tennis Open as well.

Additionally, Foxtel should be constantly updating its subscribers with anticipated starting times of matches to come in the broadcast. Viewers should write to the Sports Minister expressing their dismay.
