I am an Aussie Croat and am disgusted by the way Australian-born Croats allow themselves to be completely brainwashed by their peasant parents. Unfortunately this country has attracted solely villager Croats with centuries-old mentalities. The situation is particularly bad in Melbourne - the last bastion of Euro-centricism in Australia, refusing to accept our new Asian reality. Croats, and other people of southern European origin are far more assimilated in the rest of the country. There is so much to be proud of in Australia - we have the 2nd highest standard of living in the world, and opportunities are boundless - if you are OPEN to them, and are grateful for your fortune of being born in such a wealthy, successful country. Ljubo should more closely observe the immigrant experience in Croatia, and then revisit some of the ridiculous accusations concerning racism that he has made about Australians here. Perhaps, after extensive reflection, he may come to the conclusion that people were racist towards him due to his own lack of acceptance of Australians. How can you expect people to accept you for who you are, if you don't reciprocate the same respect?

Ok, so according to this article
"He is believed to be trialling in Switzerland."
"Milicevic replied on Wednesday. Website staff said they had verified he had sent the article from Switzerland."
So this confirmed that the article was submitted from Switzerland. Since I doubt there are many people from Switzerland who would want to pretend to be Ljubo Milicevic, than it's most likely that this is from the real deal.
Ljubo mate, I'm Greek and both my first and last name have been mispronounced since the day I was born. Even 3 of my 4 grandparents have had their name misspelled on the passports. It's something that you really got to learn not to take offense to.
I have no doubts about your facts. Yugoslavia should never have been created in the first place. In fact, if the German and Austrian thrones had survived WWI, there would be no Hitler. The world is still paying a price for 1914, sadly.
No doubt, all sides committed atrocities in WWII and in the Balkan wars. The key lesson here is to educate people so that it never happens again.
Simple, Lucas Neill squeeze every last ounce out of his talent & created a successful career.
Both Zelic & Bosnich, highly talented footballers never reached their potential.
MLF
Only one World Cup
You don't want to upset the Australian/Croatian by ignoring that Viduka captain the 2006 side
But due to the Iran disaster. 1997 produced the forgotten generation of socceroos that never played at the world cup. The likes of Zelic and Bosnich were some of the most talented players Australia produce and it was a shame that they weren't world cup players.
It's a tricky one.
Zelic is certainly one of the very best Socceroos we have ever produced.
Lucas Neill would not be amongst our top five all time Socceroos, but he has had the honour of captaining the Socceroos to two successive WCs.
My first reaction was that this "Ljubo" was actually someone pretending to be him as a satire.
Then the rebuttal article wasn't that different to his comments and now I'm not sure.
I watch some of his interviews in the past and they didn't seem that particularly bad apart from this recent one. I'm tempted to believe that maybe this "Ljubo" really isn't him but some elaborate parody of Ljubo.
It certainly does raise an obvious question, although, those of us who have followed Lube for most of his career aren't too surprised.
I wonder what the Roar editors did to assure themelves they were dealing with the real thing before publishing his response.
It's certainly a change from: "taking it one week at a time"!
Geez
You tell me not to write about you in the public forum
I explain why I should be able to
Then you go off on a rant that doesn't address any points
I wonder what type of self-important a person has to think they are above criticism
Dasilva!
Are you serious?!
Your trying to educate me on what it is to be a public figure? Hahaha
You are actually delusional, your view of your own self importance is warped... Mate you are a nobody!
Just to show you how useless you are in the bigger scheme of things, I will cease to respond to you and surely enough people will cease to read!
THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU BUDDY!
PEACE
Ljubo
If you don't want people making public criticism.
Then don't choose a career where you are in the public limelight. You are a public figure whether you like it or not. If you were just a regular bloke on the street with those opinion, no one would give a stuff to write about it. Hell just see this article as a fact that you are a celebrity that people find interesting writing and discussing about
Also don't make public political comments and be a boring sport star that you normally hate about Australian culture if you don't want people writing and criticising back. That's the flip side of being outspoken. You'll be considered entertaining and a character but people will criticised back. You have to face the idea that if you are going to give it, you certainly have to learn how to take it. Or do you believe that only sports star should be able to engage in political debate?
Judging by your negative reaction, I hope you have a better understanding why sportsman choose to be boring robots. They don't want to get involve with stuff like this and the repercussions of being outspoken.
You can't have the best of both worlds Ljubo.
for point five. Read up on "Ad hominem" as a debating tactic

Bosnich played at the highest level of the game with Aston Villa. You can't say he didn't make it.

I can't believe that any adult would choose to represent themselves in this way. I really struggle to believe that this guy is who he says he is.
