The UFC returns “Down Under” on Sunday, and while there are no titles up for grabs there is plenty at stake for those fighting at the event.

Here is a breakdown of the main card at UFC 127.

KYLE NOKE v CHRIS CAMOZZI

Local hope Kyle Noke will face fellow Ultimate Fighter alumni Chris Camozzi in the opening bout of the main card. Both fighters are undefeated in their two fights in the UFC – the difference, the man from Dubbo has finished both his fights while the American has twice headed to the judges scorecard. The big question – can Noke handle the pressure of being a home town hero?

CHRIS LYTLE V BRIAN EBERSOLE

Chris Lytle’s scheduled fight with Carlos Condit had massive ramifications in the middleweight division, but then an injury to the “Natural Born Killer” left Lytle in limbo. Enter Brian Ebersole, a veteran of MMA whose only loss in his last 12 fights came against the highly rated Hector Lombard. After 10 years in the sport he’s finally into the spotlight of the UFC. But will it end up being deadly debut against “Lights Out” Lytle?

GEORGE SOTIROPOULOS V DENIS SIVER

With the third longest winning streak currently in the UFC, quite simply if George Sotiropoulos wins at Acer Arena, the Australian deserves his shot at the lightweight title. Standing in the way of the man we are dubbing “The Professional” is German Denis Siver in a clash between the division’s best jiu-jitsu practitioner and its most dangerous striker.

MICHAEL BISPING V JORGE RIVERA

The night’s co-main event has got fight of the night written all over it. Jorge Rivera campaigned for this clash, and has been on an online tirade ever since. With a win putting him in the title picture, Michael Bisping has chosen not to react as much as many might have tought. I expect that all to change at the weigh in. Stand by for early fireworks people!

BJ PENN V JON FITCH

The winner of this fight becomes the number one contender for the welterweight crown. Coming off a 21-second knockout of Matt Hughes at UFC 123, BJ Penn will come in with plenty of confidence to make this fight a stand up war. Jon Fitch’s wrestling has the ability to dictate the fight, but is this the fight “The Prodigy’s” Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills make a return for all to see? Fitch is the favourite, but of all the fights in UFC 127 this one is the most likely to throw up an upset.

Which do you think will be the ‘Fight of the Night’?
