Danny Cipriani decision put off for a day

By News / Wire

The fate of Rebels five-eighth Danny Cipriani, who is being investigated by the Super Rugby club for a nightclub incident, won’t be announced until Tuesday.

Cipriani allegedly stole a bottle of vodka from a Chapel St nightclub and was then asked to leave the Prahran premises following the team’s opening loss to NSW just over a week ago.

He was due to front management and the senior players group, led by skipper Stirling Mortlock, on Monday.

However the players had other commitments, which forced the process to be delayed until Tuesday.

Cipriani is likely to punished with a fine.

The English import, who’s played seven Tests, starred for the Rebels in their thrilling one-point win over the Brumbies on Friday night.

He kicked a penalty in the final minute to seal the unexpected victory at AAMI Park.

The Rebels travel to New Zealand to face the winless Chiefs on Saturday night in round three action.

Further trashing of the Rugby Brand as it stood pre professionalism. Great stuff. Along as someone is making a quid.
