Tommy Oar scores screamer [video]

Australian forward Tommy Oar has scored a stunning goal for his Dutch side FC Utrecht, firing the goal of the match in a KNVB Beker Cup second-round game against De Graafschap.

After his team were a goal down, Oar picked up the ball in his own half, beat his marker and then sped down field on a 35-mere run before unleashing a rocket into the goal.

The 19-year old’s effort tied the game at 1-1 but FC Utrecht were knocked out of the Cup 4-3 on penalties.

The Gold Coast native joined FC Utrech along with his former Brisbane Roar teammates Micheal Zullo and Adam Sarota in April 2010 on a five-year deal.

Oar made his debut for the club in the Europa League in July last season and in total made eight league and five European appearances. So far in the 2011-2012 season he has made five league and one Cup appearances.

The diminutive left-winger made his debut for the Socceroos in March 2010 against Indonesia and has four national team caps.

Great strike, but the defending was pathetic. On top of his free kick at the u20s World Cup that won goal of the tournament and his (correctly) disallowed screamer against Spain that was even better, this kid has a golden left peg. Who cares if he couldn't outsprint my grandma.
