Vic Darchinyan vs. Anselmo Moreno: Live blog

And I'd keep the live blog going but my television has officially lost 7mate. Could be that storm that is circling around outside.

ROUND 12 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Last round. Darchinyan needs the KO. Nice left by Vic who is definitely hunting for it. Looks to land big but its a push and Moreno ends up on his back. Ruled a push. Darchinyan coming on. Moreno staying away. A minute left. Probably a Vic round so far but Moreno just seems to be preserving his lead. Not a smart idea when you known how kooky judges are. But this would be some kind of robbery if theyt took it off him. Moreno just evading to the bell. 10-9 Vic makes it 115-112 Moreno on my cards. Wasn't that close of a fight in my opinion.

ROUND 11 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Time is most definitely running out for Vic. By my card the stoppage is the only way to go. Doesnt look like its going to come though. He's actually landing more than usual to start the round. Nice punches to the body by Moreno. Good uppercut as well by Moreno. It's definitely a much closer round but I think Moreno is just cruising now. It looks like a Vic round but too little too late. 10-9 Vic 106-102 Moreno

ROUND 10 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Moreno land a couple to start the round. Angers Darchinyan who charges in, misses everything and Moreno clocks him. Punch stats are shown on the bradcast with Moreno outlanding Darchinyan 2 to 1. That wouldnt be too bad if any of the 81 punches Darchinyan has landed were telling in any way. Excellent left and right combo my Moreno. Another Moreno round. 10-9 Moreno 97-92 Moreno

ROUND 9 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Big left from Moreno a minnute in. Darchinyan looks a little tired now also. But he land sa nice body-head combo with the right. Darchinyan seems to be the one backing up now. Darchinyan isnt landing, Moreno is . That's pretty much it really. Excellent performance by Moreno. 10-9 Moreno 87-83 Moreno

ROUND 8 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Nice uppercut from Vic 20 secondsin tothe round. Moreno's opening up with some nice combinations. Good uppercut from Moreno. They continue with a three punch combo to the head. Vic tries to reset but hes having no success. If you want anymore of the Bull/Matador metaphor then just look at Moreno moving out of the way and Darchinyan falling into the ropes. Moreno landing at will now. Finally a left lands for Darchinyan. Pretty sure it was his first punch of the round. Bell sounds. 10-9 Moreno. 77-74 Moreno.

ROUND 7 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Nice one two on vic by Moreno to start the round. Some nice exchanges to start the fight with both men landing nicely at times. Back to the awkward clinch game thats been the staple of this fight so far though. Huge body shots from Moreno. To the body again by Moreno. Moreno's head continues to miss Vic's fist until then. Nice left from Vic doesnt faze Moreno. If Vic doesnt switch it up then this fight is going to get further and further away from him. 10-9 Moreno. 67-65 Moreno.

ROUND 6 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Much the same to begin the sizth. About a minute in Darchinyan lands a nice left over the top. Moreno opens up with punches shortly thereafter. Moreno realling opening up here and then hits Darchinyan in the balls. Vic's wind is taken out of him. but we're going again. A mintute thirty on the clock. Big miss from Vic. Moreno looks in control and Vic desperately needs to go to the body. The head just isnt there. Vic having some sucecess now but Moreno gets out of there. Moreno slips to the cnavas. No knocdown. Vic is angry and charging again. 10-9 Moreno.

ROUND 5 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Crowd getting into it now. Moreno on his bike, keeping Darchinyan at bay with jabs. A body shot for Darchinyan lands. He should keep em coming. Moreno is a very frustrating guy to fight. Almost seems impossible to hit him cleanly. Vic having some continued success to the body though. Nice shot to the body and to the head. Going ape to the end the round. Moreno didnt do much that round offensively but did make Vic miss. Tight round, as Vic landed on occasion. 10-9 Vic

Takedown skills shown by Darchinyan. MMA might not be too bad afterall. If everyone is as horrible at defending it as Moreno that is.

ROUND 4 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Darchinyan angry. Not sure thats gonna help him. He needs to settle down a bit. Nice couple of punches from Darchinyan. Big left for Vic after Moreno lands a couple of punches to the body. You get the feeling that if Vic connects the tide will turn, but whether or not he will is the big question. Nice left from Vic. Much better round from Vic. Just as I type that Moreno lands some nice shots. Nice right lands for Vic on a backing up Moreno. Commentators calling for body shots for Vic. Gotta say I agree. Moreno ends up on the canvas at the round, but its a throw by Darchinyan and Vic gets a point deducted. Woulda been a Vic round, now its 9-9.

ROUND 3 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Darchinyan continues having trouble finding Moreno's had. Big left just misses for Vic. Moreno getting in and out with jabs to the body and head constantly. Another left just misses for Vic. Nice uppercut from Vic. Slight clash of heads as the two clinch. Probably gonna happen a lot in this awkward bout. Huge uppercut from Moreno, that Vic still doesnt seem to care about. Moreno loosening up. Nice left from Vic. If Moreno gets loose he could get open for a Darchinyan bomb. Left slightly connects for Darchinan. Darchinyan getting frustrated as hell. 10-9 Moreno. Playing the matador to Darchinyan's bull pretty expertly.

ROUND 2 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Moreno apparently outlanded Vic last round. There ya go. Nice left hand from Moreno. Moreno is very awkward and Vic is havin a hard time finding him. He does his best with a wild combo but Moreno evades most of the damage. Nice left from Vic. Double jabfrom Moreno. You can see the different mindsets of the ighteres. Nice left from Moreno that Vic walks through. Nice punches against the ropes from Vic. Like I said its clear Vic wants the KO and Moreno is keen on racking up points. Close round. Probably edged to Moreno 10-9.

ROUND 1 - DARCHINYAN vs. MORENO Darchinyan stalking Moreno to begin the round. Moreno getting some good shots in but Darchinyan is loading up. Moreno continuing to stay away and making things awkward when they get in close. Right hand seems to connect for Vic that puts Moreno off balance. Vic's power seems to be coming to the fore. Moreno alright for now. Moreno starting to get some shots in but Darchinyan seems to not mind them. Nice uppercut from Vic. Nice evasion from Moreno. Good feeling out round from both guys and a nice flurry to end it. 10-9 Vic.

if you want to know why I am wary about Darchinyan crossing over to MMA, just look at his weight. Right now hes about 10lbs. lower than the lowest weight class in the UFC. Anyway, here we go.

Should be an interesting fight. Moreno doesnt have the biggest power in the world and is probably going to try and outpoint Darchinyan. If he doesn't have enough to make Darchinyan think about engaging, then he's going to get run over I think.
