Veteran Luke Power and youngsters Phil Davis and Callan Ward have been named as Greater Western Sydney’s co-captains for the Giants’ inaugural AFL season.

Power, 32, will provide the experience compiled in 282 games for Brisbane, where he was a key member of their premiership teams in 2001-03.

Davis, 21, will be one of the most inexperienced captains in VFL/AFL history, having played only 18 games in two injury-interrupted seasons for Adelaide.

Davis was the first uncontracted player to announce last year that he was joining the Giants from another AFL club, a decision which dismayed the Crows.

Ward, 21, joined the Giants for their debut season after 60 games with the Western Bulldogs, where he was considered a future leader.
