Top four rivalry set to continue

By SE Informer / Roar Rookie

The rivalry between the men’s top four tennis players is set to continue after Andy Murray completed an emphatic win over Novak Djokovic 6-2, 7-5 to reach the final of the Dubai Open Championships overnight.

Meanwhile Roger Federer’s win in the other semi-final over Juan Del Potro 7-6, 7-6 was less emphatic.

Del Potro had a five point lead in the tie-break of the second set, and should have been able to push Federer to a third set.

But Federer refused to be beaten and saw off Del Potro by going to an 8-6 lead in the tie-break and claiming the match.

A win for Murray in the final could possibly mark the beginning of his ascendency into the top 3 alongside Djokovic (1) and Nadal (2). And for Federer (3) perhaps the beginning of his demise.

So the final between Murray and Federer looks set to inspire.

With a win over Djokovic under his belt Murray will be desperate to finish business in the final. And one thing is certain, neither Murray nor Federer will give an inch.
