Carlos Tevez to provide X-factor in EPL race

By anastaciK / Roar Rookie

Carlos Tevez found himself on the scoresheet this afternoon during the Manchester Senior Cup, leading them to a 3-1 win in what was their last group match before taking on Manchester United in the final.

Tevez’s second appearance since returning to the club ensured not only a larger than normal crowd at Ewen Fields, but plenty of press interest too. The Argentinian striker, who tied for the golden boot last year, is finally on the path to redemption as he tries to break into Manchester City’s squad for the remaining matches of the season.

Tevez’s inclusion could provide the vital cog in the machine for the Blues, who hold a slender two-point lead over their cross-town arch-rivals at the top of the English Premier League table.

There is no doubting his ability as a player, and as long as his off-field dramas are behind him, there is nothing stopping him from helping the blue half of Manchester win their first Premier League title.

This is not to say that City have not coped adequately without their Argentinian star, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to have a player of his quality on the bench to come on and change a game in the final third of the match.

Blues Manager Roberto Mancini has said that he would welcome back Tevez to the squad, providing he apologised and relations between the two showed signs of improvement.

If things go well in the coming weeks we could see Tevez play an extremely important role in not only the Premier League, but also City’s Europa League Campaign.

Do you believe Tevez holds the key to Manchester City’s success in the coming weeks, or will he struggle to get back in to the team?

Let me know.

There's no doubt that Tevez is a start player but am worried at his attitude as a player overall... Leaving the club for this amount of time is surely enough to cast doubt into Mancini's mind that he cannot be relied upon, although, i hope i am wrong as i love to see this guy play. He is a true talent
