After trouncing the Rebels last weekend, the Waratahs face a stern test across the Tasman when they travel to Dunedin to face the Highlanders. We’ll have live scores from the kick-off at 5.35pm AEDT.

It might only be two weeks in, but the Waratahs have made a traditionally fast start to the Super Rugby season.

Sure, they may have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against the Reds in week one but the signs are there; new boss Michael Foley looks to have instilled discipline into a pack that will go a long way toward a successful season.

This evening they will find out exactly how far they have come when they come up against a Highlanders forward unit that has been equally if not more impressive in the Highlanders’ opening two wins, particularly in their 27-24 win over the Crusaders at home last weekend.

Foley’s team will be boosted by the return of Berrick Barnes at inside centre and Pat McCutcheon in the back row, with Tom Carter and Chris Alcock relegated to the bench.

The Waratahs have managed 12 wins in the sixteen meetings between the two sides in Super Rugby and in an evenly-matched contest this historical advantage might be just enough to tip the scales.

Are the Waratahs the real deal, or will the underrated Highlanders make it three in a row? It’s the second of a three-game Super Rugby Saturday, and we’ll have up to the minute live scores from the commencement at 5.35pm AEDT.
