West Indies vs Australia: 2nd T20I cricket live scores

By The Roar / Editor

After handing the hosts a hiding in the first Twenty20 game, Australia will look to seal a series win when they face the West Indies in Bridgetown this morning. We’ll have live scores throughout the match, which commences at 5.00am AEDT.

After an ODI series that was evenly contested throughout the five-game series, that ended in a 2-2 tie, it was expected that an unfancied West Indies would continue to trouble the Australians in the two-game Twenty20 series.

But judging by the manner in which they meekly posted a meagre total of 7/150 in the first innings, that might not necessarily be the case.

They were left to rue a sluggish start, crawling to 2/63 off their first ten overs before the heavy-hitting Kieron Pollard rescued the total, plundering 54 off 20 balls in what was the fatest fifty in the West Indies’ Twenty2o history.

Despite losing David Warner early, Australia reached the total with relative ease, with Shane Watson and Mile Hussey making short work of the Windies attack and skipper George Bailey chipping in with 21 not out at the end.

The under-performing Darren Bravo has paid the price for the side’s poor showing after managing only 12 in the first T20, while Fidel Edwards could come into the Windies attack. Australia are likely to line up unchanged.

Like so often is the case with the West Indies, anything could happen here and it wouldn’t surprise to see them come out and win, but they’ll need a far brighter start with the bat if that is to happen.

Will the T20 series be squared up with a Windies win here, or will Australia ride to another win? Find out as we cover the live scores of the match as they happen from 5.00am AEDT and if you’re watching, give us a shout in the space below.
