St Kilda vs Hawthorn: AFL live scores

By The Roar / Editor

St Kilda and Hawthorn have a chance to make a statement as they meet on the big stage that is the MCG. We’ll have live scores from 7.40pm AEST.

St Kilda are sitting on three wins and are coming off a 18-point win over Melbourne. They sit sixth on the ladder but arguably need to take a big scalp.

Hawthorn, meanwhile, were on the receiving end of a surprise result when they were trumped by Sydney in Launceston by 37 points.

It means they have just two wins to their name.

For the Saints, the past two weeks has seen some of their big names shut down by the opposition. Nick Dal Santo, Sam Fisher and Stephen Milne were well contained by Fremantle two weeks ago, and Melbourne employed a similar tactic by going after Brendon Goddard.

Lenny Hayes has been in fine form, though, and Dal Santo bounced back last week with 29 touches.

The side’s only change is Arryn Siposs coming in for Dean Polo.

For the Hawks, a solid first half did not prepare them for a second half Swans onslaught. Jarryd Roughead was in form with five goals, but Lance Franklin has been inaccurate of late and has only one goal from the last two weeks.

They’ll be keen to crank up the win tally a bit more in coming weeks, you can count on that.

Grant Birchall and Isaac Smith are among the inclusions for this week, although Josh Gibson is out with an ankle injury.

At the beginning of the season this would have looked a reasonably routine four points for the Hawks, but now it looks anything but, and another loss will crank up the pressure out at Glenferrie.
