It is the first of three Mountain stages in the Dauphiné. The last climb of today is 43 KM from the finish line so expect the peloton to bunch-up after the last climb. Join us for live updates and commentary.
After a thrilling and exciting Stage 4 ITT we are set to see fireworks on the mountains over the next two days. Cadel Evans (BMC) lost 1:43 to Bradley Wiggins (Sky) and dropped from 2nd place in GC to 5th place.
Evans himself admitted he will have to improve his TT to win the up-coming Tour de France. Please stay tuned to The Roar, some exciting coverage of the TdF will be coming. Australian Michael Rogers came 3rd in the TT, the former two times World Champion showed he still has the power.
Tonight’s Stage 5 we will see the peloton climbing a Hors Category climb “Le Grand Colombier” which is 17.4 km long and a whopping 7.2 % average gradient. The groupetta will be getting organised very quickly at the bottom of this climb.
It will be interesting to see, up this 1250 metre in vertical ascent whether BMC will make a punishing pace up the Colombier to see if they can shake Wiggins off the back or at least hurt him a bit in order to get some time in the next couple of days. Wiggins will be supported by the Australian Richie Porte and talented Kenyan born Chris Froome.
Please join me in live blogging this spectacular stage. Live blogging will start around 6:30 AEST please feel free to make your own comments that’s what the roar is all about!
Please keep an eye on The Roar interviews from GreenEDGEFans coming, will be Will Clarke (Champion systems) the next to be scheduled.

Hi guys! Well who said a lady cyclist could not pick the winners in each of the stages and each of the general classification including all the races that have been shown, well guess what this beautiful swan has and is keep on going and doing very well in cycling athletics and gym! I believe that the Stage 5 was a brilliant stage and I can see a few more dark horses in the peleton coming on through and some of them have already. Stage 6 to be a beauty! Maria Szczerba
