Brisbane Lions vs Melbourne: AFL live scores

By The Roar / Editor

A rare opportunity for two on the trot has presented itself for the Brisbane Lions and Melbourne. We’ll have live scores from 3.15pm AEST.

Both teams have struggled at times this season, but a bit of stability has arrived in recent weeks.

The basis of the turnaround in each case was an upset in round 10. The Lions beat West Coast and the Demons beat Essendon.

Last week, another scalp was claimed by Brisbane when they smashed the Western Bulldogs on the road. It was a 58-point win.

Tom Rockliff was the star with a 40 possession game (and two goals as well), while rebounding defender Pearce Hanley was another who was damaging.

In truth, there were contributors all over the ground. Ash McGrath and Daniel Merrett had a lazy nine goals between them.

For Melbourne, they enjoyed success over the GWS Giants in what turned out to be a comfortable 78-point win.

The big news out of the game (aside from what may or may not have happened in the stands) was the injury to Mitch Clark, who up until now had been the biggest spark in his club’s season.

The key forward was dominant in the first half, but he’ll now miss the rest of the season. Jared Rivers and Colin Garland had seven between them last week, but Clark will certainly be missed.

Aaron Davey (hamstring) will join Clark on the sidelines, while Matt Maguire is out for the Lions.
