Tour de France Twitter Wrap – Stage 2

As expected, Mark Cavendish vanquished his rivals on stage 2 of this year’s race. Despite not having his trademark leadout, Cav was able to pip a fading Andre Greipel on the line with Matt Goss a close third.

I’m glad Cav got a win early because it may convince him to stay in the race and prove me right.

Tonight’s stage is going to be similar to stage one but with a flat finish rather than a climb. The category 3 Cote du Mont Lambert comes with 6.5km to go so things could get interesting. My tip for the stage is for Sagan to win again from Goss and Farrar.

Mark Renshaw was philosophical after failing to figure in the sprint on Stage 2. Also thinks that tonight won’t suit the pure sprinters.
