Geelong vs Adelaide: AFL live scores

By The Roar / Editor

Geelong and Adelaide clash in a top eight blockbuster at Simonds Stadium. We’ll have live scores from 1.45pm AEST.

While the Crows sit in the top two and clear of Hawthorn and Collingwood on percentage, the punters are heavily backing the Cats to take this one.

Perhaps it’s because we saw the Geelong of old return last week against Essendon. Perhaps Adelaide, who’ve had a favourable draw, are just expected to drop games like this along the way.

Either way, it’s sure to be a top contest.

Adelaide are equal on points with ladder-leaders Sydney, while Geelong are the only team on 10 wins and sit in seventh place.

Their impressive 67-point win last week over Essendon could very well go down as the win that reignited their season.

Shrugging off the team’s history of poor starts, Mitch Duncan (31 disposals and a goal), Steve Johnson (22 and two) and Andrew Mackie (24 touches with 10 marks) all stood up. Tom Hawkins had five goals.

The Crows were also impressive in disposing of West Coast by 49 points at home.

Bernie Vince had four goals to his name, while Patrick Dangerfield (28 touches and two goals) and Jason Porplyzia (25 and three) were also major contributors. Scott Thompson had another big game.

It was their fourth win on the trot after beating Richmond, Port Adelaide and GWS Giants.

Jimmy Bartel and Allen Christensen return for the Cats, replacing the suspended Matthew Scarlett and Jordan Murdoch.

Taylor Walker and Luke Thompson replace Kurt Tippett and Andy Otten for the Crows.
