New York defeated in Cahill MLS debut

By News / Wire

Tim Cahill’s Major League Soccer debut ended in defeat on Friday, with the Socceroo star’s New York Red Bulls falling 2-0 away to Houston Dynamo.

Jermaine Taylor gave the home side a second-minute lead before Calen Carr doubled the advantage in the 28th minute as in-form Houston moved two points clear of the Red Bulls at the top of the Eastern Conference with their fifth successive victory.

Cahill was named in New York’s starting line-up following his recent move from Premier League club Everton. Cahill also featured in the Red Bulls’ 2-1 friendly defeat to Tottenham in midweek.

Awesome new stadium for Houston Dynamo. 22,000 seater at a cost of only 95 million dollars.

All well taken goals and no shortage of skill. Just what's required to bring the fans to games.

Seattle had over 60,000 today for the visit of LA Galaxy which they won 4-0. Look like one of the teams to beat for the NY Red Bulls.
