The Melbourne Renegades get a chance to extend their winning streak when they face Brisbane Heat in the 14th game of the Big Bash League this season at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne. We’ll have live scores from 7.00pm AEDT.

The only team yet to be defeated, the Renegades have currently won all three of their opening games. The Hobart Hurricanes were the latest team that went down to the Renegades and in spectacular fashion.

On a reasonable looking track, the Hurricanes were kept down to only 102 in their 20 overs with spinners Mutthiah Muralitharan and Marlon Samuels sharing five wickets and conceding only 38 runs from their eight overs.

The Renegades completed their chase in 13.2 overs to stamp their authority on the tournament.

Earlier, Sydney Thunder had been restricted to 116 that the Renegades achieved with 10 balls to spare and Melbourne Stars’ 167 was also easily chased down.

Captain Aaron Finch has been the star with the bat and currently leads the batting charts by some distance – he has 188 runs to the next best of 113.

The Brisbane Heat seemed to have overcome their poor start to the BBL after they chased down Adelaide Strikers’ 185 in their second game. Earlier, they had failed to defend 172 against the Hobart Hurricanes.

But in a game that looked like going their way afters rains changed Perth Scorchers’ target to 51 in five overs, Nathan Coulter-Nile’s amazing blitz on their bowlers left them with only two points from three games.

The Scorchers had only 17 on the board after 2.2 overs, which meant that Brisbane had 34 runs to defend in the last 2.4. They conceded all those runs in two overs.

While five-over cricket can easily go either way, the Heat will know they messed up a good chance of garnering a win that would have kept up their winning momentum.

Heat’s bowling has been a bit up and down but Kemar Roach’s inclusion could add some early spice to their attack.

The batting, on the other hand, has delivered in all three games. Scores of 172, 185 and 109 (13.1 overs) is excellent going, more so when different batsmen have put their hands up and got the runs for them.

Despite the Renegades’ superb run, Brisbane Heat’s batting will be one to contend with and that could lead to an even contest.

We will bring you the live coverage throughout the game from the Docklands and hope to receive your opinions as the action unfolds.
