Australia continue their ODI series against West Indies on the back of a dominant win on Friday that saw the West Indies dismissed for 70. We’ll have live scores and commentary from the WACA from 2.20pm AEDT.
Australia will be looking to consolidate and go two up in the five match series and won’t discount a still potent West Indies line-up, regardless of Friday’s result.
Don’t be surprised to see a much more established batting performance from West Indies’ big hitters such as Gayle, Pollard and Bravo.
All summer the WACA conditions have provided plenty of movement both off the seam and through the air, something the West Indies really struggled with.
The key to a more contested match will be settling in early and mastering the late swing of the Australian bowlers.
West Indies won Friday’s toss and elected to bat, Darren Sammy obviously saw something he liked in the pitch.
Will we see him stick with those tactics or will he be looking to change things up?
Normally very comfortable in the West Australian, climate the tourists have won 10 from 18 at the WACA and Friday’s loss was only the second defeat suffered at the hands of the Australians.
We will bring you live coverage of the game right here on The Roar from 2.20pm AEDT and as always, we look forward to your insightful opinions throughout the match.

yep that was a disgrace

I agree. It is his captaining ability and cool head under pressure that has landed him the T20 job. I don't think he is suited to the format he should be elevated.

How do you know that when he hasn't played any test matches. He needs to be brought into the test set up. As I said he was the only odi batsman that performed in England only 6 months ago against a quality attack on their home soil, we lost 4-0. C He is ripe for test selection in my view,

3rd Umpire is my nomination for MoM ... secured the Aussies victory at a crucial turning point of the match...great call by him to reverse Danny Thomas' 1st ball not-out decision, despite NO evidence of a snick on ANY video/ audio/ snicko or hotspot footage! Absolute farce. Decision riles the Windies, who lose all batting composure from thereon in. At least I learnt a new fact tonight about Hotspot - the sun's reflection on the batting gloves interferes with it detecting the heat from ball contact... not quite the definitive umpiring technology silver bullet its cracked up to be!

Exactly! I've been saying from the start of the discussion that Bailey should be in the test team, let alone the squad for india and the ashes. Some fans seem to have a grudge against him because he was named the T20 skipper when he may not have been the best choice. Regardless of that, in terms of actual ability, performance and experience at international level he is miles ahead of some of the names that get thrown up and unfortunately picked in the team (i.e. Maxwell). I'd pick him in any Australian side that plays cricket.

Bailey has been in ODI form ever since the start of his career! We lost 4-0 in England 6 months ago(Clarke captain!) with our best team and Bailey was our only performer.. surely that is not lost on the selectors!

Big difference test arena just because he is playing good odi proves nothing at test level does not have what it takes for test matches

Yeah, the way he built his innings was very impressive. Could be worth giving him a go in the Test team if he can keep delivering like that.

Maxwell, smith and henriques have already filled it up. Unless India suck, they will get found out badly. Bailey is a much more orthodox cricketer, a more genuine 5/6. Save the sloggers for 20/20

Bailey should take Steve smiths spot, khawaja is a natural test player and will do well in India

I didn't watch or listen to the game but from the looks of it, the Windies can ony handle 20 over cricket (ranked 2). They struggle at 50 over and test cricket (ranked just above those cricketing powerhouses on NZ and Bangladesh). I think this series will be very useful for increasing batting averages (if there is no swing or movement) and lowering bowling averages (Inconsistent Windies). Bring on the footy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Third that. I think I'd actually take the 6 months for slapping Maxwell as hard as humanly possible across the face.

Selectors have missed a trick in Bailey. Tubby made a very insightful observation that the test team for India has a lot of top order talent and all rounders but has no genuine middle order 5 6 . He maintained that Watson is better up the order as an opener. Code for Bailey! We are at that transition point where the younger guys are almost there but not quite. Bailey would fit neatly into the equation right now as an experienced player/ leader at the top of his game. I can see him as captain of the ODI team at the next world cup. He needs to be brought into the inner sanctum of the test arena as soon as possible, we need him for the ashes.

I think we found that Bailey is the man to take over Hussey's role....should be on a plane to India.

Exactly. 20/20 bowling, throw it wide so it's much harder hit, not a fancy strategy. Hardly a big wicket, he was what, #10? Who came out, faced 4 balls, got 4 sixes (!!!), then got out.
