Real hurdle in Germany for Madrid

Jose Mourinho has won it all, wherever he has coached – England, Portugal, Italy and Spain.

Well, Spain? He did push Barcelona out of the La Liga race last season and went on to win the big league, but what about the Champions League?

The problem for Mourinho is Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

The issue is the two legs. Real Madrid can and might beat any of them in the finals or one-off, but when it comes to two legs, beating them in their own turf isn’t easy.

Though Ronaldo is scoring a lot of goals this season (8) and with the great performances of late by 19 years old Varane and their new recruit Diego Lopez, Madrid would still find it tough to be better than the Germans in Germany.

Real Madrid can beat strong teams like Juventus or PSG but when the connection is made from German’s elite, they tend to panic.

It’s unsurprising that the team who Madrid defeated in the ’02 Champions League finals hailed from Germany, Bayer Leverkusen.
