It’s arguably the last ‘big’ game of the season in the English Premier League as Chelsea host Tottenham in a game with massive implications – join us from 4.45am AEST for live scores and commentary of all the action.
With Wigan’s loss this morning (and a visit to Arsenal on the weekend ahead) and Manchester United winning the title weeks ago, the only sliver of intrigue that remains in the Premier League is the race for those last two Champions League spots.
And we’re about to get a whole lot closer to knowing which two London teams will be joining the Manchester clubs in world football’s premier club competition, as Andre Villas-Boas returns to Stamford Bridge with his men sitting in fifth, just two points behind Arsenal and three behind their hosts in this fixture.
All eyes will be on Gareth Bale, as the man who last week scooped both the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards will look to add to his already impressive tally of 20 league goals this season.
And indeed, you have to wonder if he will be at White Hart Lane next season if they are again deprived of the chance to match it with Europe’s best.
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is now just one goal behind Bobby Tambling for the all-time Chelsea and he would dearly love to all but guarantee the club a Champions League spot for next season by equalling or tying that record.
He too may not be at his club next season, but for entirely different (and much more absurd) reasons.
Plenty of storylines and plenty at stake. Join us just before 4.45am AEST for all the team news, line-ups and formations.

Outstanding game. Chelsea probably created more, but Tottenham defended stoutly in the second half and grabbed a sharp equalizer. This pulls Spurs to within a point of Arsenal and keeps them three behind Chelsea, albeit with a vastly inferior goal difference. So it's Chelsea (and Arsenal) who will be happiest, who keep their Champions League hopes in their own hands. Tottenham must rely on some help now. Thanks for tuning in, I'm going back to bed for a couple of hours. Feel free to send me a tweet @TheMattBungard - cheers
