Gallen out for up to five weeks: report

By News / Wire

NSW captain Paul Gallen is in doubt for the State of Origin decider due to a foot injury suffered in Origin II on Wednesday.

According to reports Gallen is set to miss up to five weeks with the injury that occurred in Queensland’s series-levelling 26-6 win.

Scans have revealed Gallen suffered a partial tear of the plantar fascia tissue in the arch of his left foot in the last 10 minutes of Wednesday’s match, according to News Limited.

It’s believed the injury will sideline Gallen for three to five weeks.

That puts him in serious doubt for the Origin series decider at ANZ Stadium on July 17, but the 31-year-old is determined to push on and be fit for the do-or-die match.

“My goal hasn’t changed. I’ll be doing everything I can to be fit for game three,” Gallen told News Ltd.

“I’m going to stay on the crutches for three or four days, spend every day rubbing Pain Away into it and ensure I get it right.

“I’m certainly not thinking that I won’t be there.”

I think Qld will win again and by heaps nsw got no hope they gotta have a side with game breakers in it and a good kicker that knows where to place he's kicks unlike Pearce, I hope daly swaps Pearce for A. Reynolds , j Reynolds out for Sutton, Merritt out Fergo to comeback in, Hayne to comeback in, then might have a chance

He'll play hopefully, gotta feel for the Sharks though. They're paying his Salary and he's missing months worth of footy with Origin and injury.

Nobody really believes the NRL is real. Its just a great way for companies to advertise. The Players are the checkout chicks, the Ref's are the store managers , the Linesmen are security on the door , the Video Ref is to watch out for shoplifters and the Ballboys collect the tolleys.

I am a league fan, it is only friendly banter Eagle, i have nothing personal against Manly, only crowd figures. Besides, i have now turned my attention to the Tigers, the way they are treating Benji is shonky,.
