A pitch intrusion by a naked streaker on ANZ Stadium has spoiled State of Origin, with the streaker falling into the thick of the action and causing a certain Queensland attack to be ruled no try.
The streaker burst onto the field sometime in the 77th minute, and ran up the pitch, stumbling into the action with security in fluorescent jackets attempting to run him down.
With Queensland attacking the Blues line and a certain try on the cards, the disruption caused defender Ryan Hoffman to fall into the mass of security who had run on to the field to stop the streaker.
While Hoffman appeared to make the most of the opportunity to be obstructed, and while Matt Scott crossed the line for the Maroons, the video referee deemed the play to be no try.

Greg Inglis responded to the incident after the game, saying “It’s a pity that fools like that ruin a great game like Origin.”
It took one person in the 83,813 strong crowd to attempt to deny Queensland, but not even a fat naked streaker could stop the Maroons juggernaut, winning the final game of the series to win the eight match on the trot.
The streaker ran some 95m on the field before falling on his face – his alcohol fuel seemingly running low.

HG Nelson had the following to say:
The concept comes alive with yet another way for the Maroons to win it at the death. Where do they find these brilliant plot ideas #SOO
