Lee Westwood is arguably one of the best players not to win a major, but he will get his chance today as he carries a two-shot lead into the final round of the 2013 Open Championship at Muirfield in Scotland. Join us for live updates from 11.30pm AEST.

Australian Adam Scott will be hoping to put a disappointing finish in last year’s tournament behind him when he resumes three shots of the pace.

Tiger Woods, who came into the tournament under an injury cloud, will look to win his first major when not leading coming into the final round, to add to his 14 previous major victories.

A victory for Scott will definitely put the demons from last year behind him, as he looks to win his second major title of the season after winning the US Masters at Augusta earlier this year.

Ten players sit within five shots of the lead, and as the course continues to dry out scoring won’t be easy and it will come down to who can hole the putts and keep their name at the top of the leader-board.

Join us from 11.30pm AEST (2.30pm GMT) for a live blog and updates from the final round of the 2013 Open Championship.

If you asked me a few weeks ago whether I thought Mickelson could win the British Open I would have probably said no, but last week at Castle Stuart he seemed to have a new found attitude to the links courses, and with his putting back on track he showed just how much he still has to give.

Now, for him to win the US Open title that he has come so close to on six occasions.

“When you work for a guy for 21 years, and you watch him play the best round of golf he’s ever played, it’s pretty cool,” Mickelson’s caddie Jim ‘Bones’ Mackay said, fighting back the tears.

Another tough result for Adam Scott to take in the Open. Had a one shot lead coming to 13 but four straight bogeys before a birdie on 18 saw the Australian finish in a tie for 3rd at +1, 4 behind Mickelson.

It simply feels good to see Phil in a huddle with his family as he finishes strong today. He’s a gentleman, a great family man, and an extraordinary champion. No doubt he’ll repeat today.

Phil Mickelson sinks his birdie putt on 18 to open up a 3 shot lead and seal his first British Open title with a final round 66.
