You sick of reading and hearing about Israel Folau’s drawn-out contract negotiations, I’ve just about had a gutful myself. It’s getting absurd how this is being drawn out.
We keep reading that Izzy is close and just needs a few things sorted out.
We also keep reading the ARU and Waratahs have done everything possible yet are waiting on Titan Management.
What exactly is it that Folau needs ironed out?
The longer this goes on, the pointy end of the NRL season is around the corner, the more likely he may yearn for a switch back to League.
Or is it the case of Izzy playing a couple of Bledisloe Cup games and deciding he definitely wants to stay in rugby?
If rugby as a code was in a stronger position they could and should have put a deadline on signing a contract.
If only the game was a in a position of leverage.
As it is the ARU and Waratahs are somewhat sweating on his signature.
I think it would be great for the game if he stays, however let’s get a decision and move on either way.
