St Kilda vs Gold Coast Suns: AFL live scores

By The Roar / Editor

St Kilda will be looking for their first win since Round 13 when they host the Gold Coast Suns at Etihad Stadium this afternoon. We’ll have live scores from 1.10pm AEST.

They might have eventually gone down by 59 points, but St Kilda’s first half against the reigning Premiers last Sunday at least indicated that Scott Watters’ side are making some steps toward improvement.

With Fremantle at Etihad Stadium next weekend, today’s game against the Suns represents the probably the last chance for the Saints to enhance their 3-17 record.

Unsurprisingly, given his young list, Watters has made a number of changes to the side that lost in Sydney last weekend.

Cameron Shenton, Tom Ledger and Brodie Murdoch have been added onto an extended 25-man squad along with Lenny Hayes, who re-signed for his 16th season at Moorabbin earlier in the week.

Gold Coast continued what has been an admirable late-season run, pushing Port Adelaide for four quarters at AAMI Stadium last Sunday after leading by nine points at three-quarter time.

Suns coach Guy McKenna has also made a number of changes to his side, bringing in five players onto an extended bench.

Gold Coast opened their 2013 campaign with a 13-point win over the Saints in Round 1, when Gary Ablett almost certainly claimed three Brownlow votes with 34 touches and four goals.

It was the Suns’ first win over the Saints after three previous losses.

They’ll head to Melbourne confident of picking up a second, although they will have to overcome an Etihad Stadium hoodoo which has seen them fail to win on each of their five previous attempts.

Looks like Gary went home spooking aye Dave? Nick Riewoldt was all class, 25 disposals I think and 15 marks. Should've had at least 5 goals as he missed some really gettable chances. Montagna is back to his best and has been an absolute star all season despite the results. Suns have a lot of injuries but I haven't seen a Saints win in a while, good to finally get up for once!!
