After last Monday night’s win, third-placed Melbourne Victory head up to meet old rivals Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium. Join us from 7.45pm AEDT for live scores and commentary.

This ‘Big Blue’ might not be between two sides who are close on the ladder, but these fixtures always seem to result in something spectacular.

Sydney FC
Sydney has had a poor start to the season by the Sky Blues’ lofty standards, having only won one of their first four matches so far this campaign.

Sydney showed good signs in their season opener, but they have looked clueless in their matches since.

Sydney is yet to score since Round 1, but have conceded seven in the last three rounds.

Sydney’s poor form has lead to many questioning Frank Farina‘s role as head coach. It was this fixture last year that saw ex-Sydney boss Ian Crook resign from Sydney’s top job.

Sydney will be boosted by the return of Alessandro Del Piero. Del Piero may be what Sydney needs to hit the scoreboard. Sydney are yet to score without Del Piero this season.

Sydney is going to struggle against last year’s minor premiers.

Melbourne Victory
The most relieved man in the Victory camp at the moment will be new coach Kevin Muscat.

The new Victory manager registered his first win in charge last weekend against a fast finishing Wellington Phoenix.

The Victory got off to the perfect start last weekend going 3-0 up half way through the first half.

When Paul Ifill scored in around the 80th minute some Victory fans got a bit anxious, but they held off until the end to record a 3-2 victory.

Melbourne will come into this match as strong favourite’s. Melbourne’s strong start to the year has pleased many Victory fans.

Although there is a question mark to whether they can continue this form without Postecoglou, they still should come out on top.

I’m predicting a 2-0 win to Melbourne Victory. They will be too lethal up front for the fragile wall that is the Sydney FC back four.
