How far can the Thunder go in 2013/2014?

By Zee / Roar Guru

Oklahoma City Thunder and Kevin Durant are the current two hottest names to be muttered around NBA circles.

This season may only be at its half way point, but Scot Brook’s ruthless boys are just dashing every side they come across with such an eased, efficient and balanced attack.

It’s becoming painful for the rest of the league because they are quite unstoppable at the moment.

Kevin Durant is the one leading this side to the top of the West Conference table.

This season, he is a man possessed with greatness. He is delivering more than any player in the league including Lebron James.

Each game K.D is hitting near or about 30+ with a 5.2 average.

He is doing what others have attempted but so dearly failed to do, and that is overshadow the great Lebron James.

Durant is the most greatest and most in form player in world basketball at the moment.

During the Nets game on Saturday, he posted 26 points off only 12 goal attempts, with seven assists, three rebounds to lead OKH to a 120-95 victory.

They took on a really good Nets side, who could barely get a look in all match.

All we non Thunder supporter folk can do is sit back and enjoy these masterclasses and delicious shows of dominance and killer instinct.

Whether it lasts until the play offs or ends tomorrow, the Western Conference battle is looking like its going to become home of the juiciest and tightest battles yet.

Durant had an OK day today - but then finished badly missing two key shots.

Lebron has really picked it up over the past month especially the last two weeks. He has had close to triple double games on about four occasions in the last two or three weeks and his defence has gone into overdrive. And Durant seems to have backed off a bit - the thirty points per game streak now well over. I would say right now Lebron is the best. For the season so far Durant is still in front by some distance. For careers to date - not even a contest - Lebron.

Agree, odd examples used in this article. I laughed at the Nets comment!

At this stage I don't see Miami getting past Indiana. The heat showed against OKC how poor their bench play can be at times. One of Oklahoma's strengths at the moment is their bench, as well as the solid play from the likes of Reggie Jackson. KD and Ibaka have be amazing this season as well.

There was one written a few days ago? I am surprised this one got published than. Well he is the most in form Baller at this present time, I think my "at the moment" details, what I meant. At this current point in time, the guy is killing it above anyone else. Nets have a good side, when they are on their game, they are a niggly side to beat. Mate I used that as an example, because it was the most recent game. Even as a Heat supporter I am not convinced that they will be the team to beat, our play has become far to predictable, and some of the losses we've had so far has been telling that the tides may be changing. The play offs are a different story, but this article was written in the moment, when OKH are soaring, and KD is killing it, and giving us figures better than any baller at the moment.

Other than the fact the an almost identical article was written a few days ago on here, I have a few issues with the articles. Firtsly they are so unstoppable they got convincingly beaten by the Wizards. Durant is the "most greatest" player in world basketball at the moment? Lets not get carried away here. As the 4 time MVP and reigning back to back champion, Lebron is the great basketballer in the world at the moment. No 15-20 game stretch in January is going to change that. They took on a "really good" nets side? The same nets that are 20-25 and have looked anything but really good most of the year. I dont know why you used this game or Durants box score as evidence for his dominance; weird example. Nonetheless, Durant is flying and OKC are certainly clicking. The question remains is it possible with the return of Westbrook, and can Durant maintain this level of play for another 5 months. Miami is still the team to beat come playoff time.
