[VIDEO] New Zealand Warriors vs Canterbury Bulldogs: NRL live scores, blog, highlights

By Alan / Roar Guru

The Canterbury Bulldogs have been in superb form over the past fortnight and they will fancy their chances of defeating a New Zealand Warriors side coming off a very poor performance against Cronulla. Join us for live scores and commentary from 2:00pm AEST.

Back to back victories over Melbourne and Sydney have Canterbury full of confidence at the moment.

The Bulldogs have managed to out-muscle two premiership contenders over the past fortnight and are starting to play with the form that saw them make the 2012 grand final.

The Warriors, on the other hand, once again prove a pain to read. After notching back-to-back victories over the Cowboys and Tigers, New Zealand failed to show up against the Sharks last week en route to another poor defeat – one that cost coach Matthew Elliott his job.

The Warriors have to start from square one as they attempt to regather winning momentum that has yet again been lost.

Getting back into the winner’s circle will prove very difficult for the Warriors today. The Bulldogs are playing tough footy at the moment and could easily run away with this contest if the Warriors fail to show up with proper intensity.

The key match-up tonight will undoubtedly be in the halves, where Shaun Johnson faces the in-form Josh Reynolds.

Reynolds has been in superb touch of late and has produced some vital plays in both defence and attack to steer the Bulldogs home in recent weeks.

Against the Roosters, Reynolds produced a try-saving tackle on Daniel Tupou in the second half before calmly slotting home a field goal that proved decisive.

Johnson remains an enigma. On his day, he ranks as one of the most talented halves in the NRL but his inconsistency will forever place him beneath the very best halves in rugby league.

With Reynolds leading the ship superbly, the Bulldogs possess the form and attitude to once again outmuscle the Warriors in New Zealand.

Bulldogs by 10.

Hurrell made a big break down the sideline but the Bulldogs held on and secured possession and once again score a great win under pressure! Bulldogs too tough and too clinical when it counts. Hodkinson superb with his kicking game today. Bulldogs pack once again very strong. Warriors tried hard and had their chances to seal the deal but once again fall short. Bulldogs a real force this season. Thanks for your company today and join us next time on The Roar Warriors 20 Bulldogs 21

As of 2014 20m restarts have a zero tackle to discourage tactical kicks to stall for time.
