[VIDEO] Newcastle Knights vs Brisbane Broncos: NRL live scores, blog, highlights

By djcooper / Roar Guru

The Newcastle Knights will be looking to continue their recent good form while the Brisbane Broncos will be hoping to arrest their previous two losses in tonight’s Round 7 blockbuster at Hunter Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 7:40pm (AEST).

The Knights, who sit thirteenth on the ladder, will be looking to build on their recent victory in the nation’s capital and will buoyed by the mid-week resigning of Jarrod Mullen for a further four years.

The Broncos on the other hand, are coming off back-to-back loses and will be desperately trying to recapture their early season form which saw them win three out of their first four.

Last year the Knights ended the Broncos slim hope of playing finals football by beating them in their Round 25 clash 26-18. Prior to this in Round 21, both teams shared the spoils after an epic contest resulted in an 18 all draw.

Key match-ups tonight include the (Wayne Bennett appointed) NRL’s form forward Beau Scott up against Sam Thaiday, who has never looked as fit as what he does now compared to his previous seasons at Red Hill.

Joseph Leilua, who will be looking to continue the form which many good judges rate as Origin quality up against the incumbent Queensland centre Justin Hodges, returning in his third match back since rupturing his achilles.

Both sides will field close to near full strength outfits and this contest will likely be decided towards the back-end of the second half with either an individual player’s brilliance or (gulp) a refereeing error likely to decide the contest.

Can Newcastle string consecutive victories together for the first time this season or will the Broncos rediscover their resolve and bury the Knights on their home turf?

Join The Roar live scores, coverage and debate on our live blog from 7.40pm (AEST).

Hi, Just a quick ask. We are doing try scoring doubles. Who did Korbin Sims replace when he scored the knights first try as he was wearing a reserve jumper. Thanks

Vidots putting himself in line for a QLD call up if either Boyd or Tate get injured. Great stats from the guy.

The Broncos spluttering attack finally clicked into gear and they were able to rack up a number on the struggling Knights. Plenty to take out of this game for Coach Griffin and hopefully he understands that using your full compliment of players can only be a good thing. Barba is finding some form and Hodges is getting better each game which will please all Queenslanders. Coach Bennett has a bit of work to do and it seems as though his side lost confidence from their blown chances in the first half.

57' Penalty Broncos, attacking the KNights line and they choose to take the kick. Interesting decision considering Parker's kicking form and this will only take them to 16 points in front not 18 Knights 6 Broncos 20

64' If Griffin takes one thing from this game it should be that Granville has the potential to offer the Broncos so much in 10 or 15 minute bursts that they have been lacking all year. Knights 6 Broncos 20
