Round 10 sees the Wests Tigers travelling to the Shire to face the increasingly desperate Cronulla Sharks. Join The Roar for live score updates and commentary from at 5:30pm (AEST).
Life ain’t easy for the Sharks club and their fans, a fact since the club came into existence in 1967 but especially so over the last 18 months.
Sitting last on the ladder, the Sharks are missing several stars and are forced to play the talented Luke Lewis at five-eighth for the second week running.
This team configuration did not bother the Eels too much as they ran in 42 points against the Sharks last start.
Their best hope in this one is to get a good start, get the crowd involved and put some doubt in the minds of the young Tigers.
The 2014 season has been a surprising one for the Tigers, who have finally unearthed several young talents and are sitting seventh on the ladder. Their past two games have not been superb and they will be pencilling this match in as a chance to get back on track.
Their playing roster is only missing a couple of first-choice starters and will be coming with plenty of intent to add more misery to the Sharks’ 2014 campaign.
The Tigers have enjoyed a recent run of success against the Sharks, although the most recent couple of clashes were convincing wins to the boys in blue in 2013. Before these two games there is a long stretch of Tigers domination.
The residual feeling of so many ex-Tigers now wearing the blue of the Shire is sure to add some spice to the broth.
Apart from the offloading of Paul Gallen, it’s hard to see where the Sharks’ attack is going to come from.
The Tigers have good players in form with none more important than the returning Robbie Farah, who will be out to end speculation of who will wear the No. 9 for the NSW Blues in Origin 1.
Unfortunately for the Sharks, he will be doing his best to disgrace the colour blue this weekend and I can’t see them being able to stop him and his team from the west.
Tigers by 10.

Damn it Gordon WHY CAN'T YOU KICK 45 METRE PENALTIES? You've ruined my perfect tipping week. Now I'll probably end up homeless with a measly 5 or 6/8

Which specific penalties do you have a problem with? I think you're just being a sore loser nurse.

Anyone who thinks that Galloway was guilty of a chicken wing is either blind or out of their mind. As for the bite, there were no obvious marks on Wade Graham, and there wasn't anything like conclusive evidence in the replay. You can't just penalise players on an opposition player's say so. If Graham makes a complaint the match review committee will look at it.

Cronulla were very lucky in this one. The Tigers were clearly the better team but suffered from some poor mistakes and bad reffing. But at least they got the two points they so richly dererved. Season now over for Boofhead's boys.

That was interesting in that it was close and both teams seemed to run out of petrol at the same time. The Sharks had their chances to win this but the Tigers were good enough to hold on for the win. My man of the match is Luke Brooks.
